Whether it is that you have watched it the first time in your life or if its been awhile, is there a way that Balto I may very well cause depression for the next 48 hours? I ask this because I had recently received the DVD (after waiting FOREVER) and watched it. I did break out in tears round the end. For the next 48 hours, I felt down and cried often. After that, I was fine. It's weird, cause it does not happen with Wolf Quest or Wings Of Change. I am anxious to hear your responses to this...i bet im not the only one.

I have felt the same way a few times, your not the only one. Not sure why though...

Wow... crying is a little overdramatic(no offence) and a little too much, depression for some people may be possible but crying and for such a long period of time. you might want to get help from other people(again no offence) if you are at a age that do not cry easily. Please inform me if i had say someting wrong.

I only found it depressing a little after watching it once. It didn't last nor did I cry,
but I found it sad that the great hero that inspired the movie was gone,
and after reading what had happened to him and his team after the run, I thought it just was a shame...

The movie was touching on some levels. People were dying after all. And this REALLY happened.
Though the movie didn't show actual deaths, the coffin scene alone was enough to show the severity of what was going on in Nome.

As far as the sequels, it's obvious. There's no life risking moments. And what little there might be is taken away with it's childish atmosphere.
They're made to be purely for children. They just don't touch you like the first movie.

I'm no expert by any means, but I had a somewhat similar experience. When our cat died recently, I found myself unable to think about death scenes in (unreleased) stories which, prior to Casper's demise, had significantly less impact on me emotionally.
Is there something in the movie that strikes you personally, or that echoes a painful experience of your own (say, being rejected by peers)? If so, that would explain it perfectly.

If I watched it right now I know I wouldn't feel that way. I just wonder why I used to, hmm.

Hey baltoluv *waves I had a similar situation to yours.
After watching Balto Even though the movie has a happy ending, and Balto saves the kids and becomes a Hero there are still parts of the movie that get me very emotional. Like the very ending scene for example. Rosie looks up at the Balto statue and says "Thank you Balto I would have been lost without you" and then sad music comes on as she walks away. That scene really hits me Because when you think about it Balto is know gone, and she is thanking him for saving her its a very nice moment which always did and always will make me cry. In other words I know were your coming from, but I would not say it makes me depressed, just a little emotional.

the rest of the movies I don't get emotional either. In Wolf Quest when Aleu leaves I get a little like aww how sad, but that's it.

I concur on that,I never got depressed either.^^

I didn't get depressed after the movie at all.
