Intro:It was a brisk evening when Casey saw a shooting star. She was the "soon-to-be" alpha female and she wasn't so sure she wanted to be. Once she saw the star she quickly wished that she wouldn't have to be forced to marry the one she was forced to. Jason.

Plot:Casey is a beautiful black wolf, with piercing yellow eyes, and is betrothed to a handsome tan and grey wolf. She is to be the future alpha female of the pack and she has no mother. Casey had grown up with this wolf, Blake who was from another pack, and she didn't quite know how to feel around him or about him. But one night, as the night fell upon the starry sky, Casey looked up and a single tear fell from her eye. She wished something she thought to be the best wish ever, but, turned out to be one of the, worst, possible mistakes she would ever make, altering, hers and Blake's and possibly the whole entire packs, future.

Casey was taking a long walk after the fact that her father had just told her that she was to be married. But not to just anybody. To the male from the other pack. Who seemed to be a complete stranger. But he wasn't, he was someone she had grown up with while they were pups. She hadn't really talked to him much growing up because she had thought that she shouldn't waste her time spending it with other pups. Especially from the other packs. Since her mother died when she was a pup, she didn't want to go out or do anything that involves going out to socialize with other wolves. The only person she ever talked with was her caretaker. She didn't really know her by name and she wasn't entirely sure if she was real or not. But, she knew for certain that she was there to her. And Casey could definitely talk to her about her problems.

As Casey was walking she suddenly felt a swift bump and some mumbled words that she couldn't quite make out. She tried to gather her thoughts before continuing on with her stroll. Once she returned, she sat down and, with her ears pointed backwards, said to her caretaker, "Hey Nana," She started since she didn't really know what to call her for she had never really known her real true name, "my father told me today that, well, I was to be mates with some wolf I've never talked with, and I'm not so sure I really want to. It's just all so sudden. I mean, how, why could/would he do this to me?" She was starting to get angry as warm salty tears started to form in her eyes leaving them feeling burnt. She continued, while talking through her tears, "I'm just so confused, and angry, and upset at my father for doing this." She finally stopped and waited for 'Nana' to answer her.

Nana had started to be Casey's caretaker shortly after her mother had died. Casey's father thought that it would be important for Casey to grow up with a mother figure, despite all the time she'd spent inside shut away from everybody. She sat there and took it all in. She finally replied, "Casey," she started, "you do know your father loves you right? And he would do anything to make you happy. But, right now, this pack really needs the alpha female position. And-" She was suddenly cut off by Casey's angry voice.


"Then why doesn't he just go find some other bitch to have his pups, and to be his wife?!" She was harsh but she had to get the truth out some how. She had to be heard. She couldn't just sit back and watch everybody else, besides her, having a good time and seemingly forgetting about her mother. She got up and almost ran out of the den but her body only allowed her to go at a smooth jog. After she got outside of the den she ran to one of her favorite places, besides her den, to be whenever she was feeling sad or lonely. She went to the borderlines of the two packs and lay down beneath a pine tree. It was almost winter and soon it would mark 14 years since her mother had passed. She could still remember how it ended and it burned in the back of her head.

As she fell asleep under the moonlight, she remembered... It was a cold winter night and Casey and her mother were out. Her mom was teaching her how to properly hunt a mouse right where Casey was currently under the pine tree. It wasn't much, but, Casey's mother didn't want her getting hurt out doing the real hunting. They were on their way back to the den and they were having a good time chatting away under the clear, moonlit, winter sky. Snow was starting to fall and she jumped onto her mothers back for a ride back. She snuggled up in her mom's fur to keep warm and then all of a sudden. She had this strange falling sensation in her stomach, like you would if you were jumping downward from a cliff, and Casey saw her mother's body twitching like she was having a seizure. She had never seen this before because her mother was a strong wolfess and was top in the hunting team. She ran to get her father but her legs were unable to move anywhere so she just let out a blood curdling howl of pain...


She quickly awoke from the terrible nightmare and was crying even harder than she was before. If only, if only she could have that night back. If only she could hunt mice with her mother once more.. She longed for it.. She kept crying..

Casey walked back into her den where her father was sitting. He had a freshly caught deer for her to eat and she walked up to it. "Thank-you." She mumbled as he left the room. She started eating it when Nana walked into the room. She started off by talking to her with a mouth full of deer, "Hey Nana. I'm sorry I snapped at you earlier. It was wrong of me and uncalled for. Would you forgive me?" She asked politely waiting for the response.

Nana almost emideately answered, "Of course I'll forgive you." She started smiling, "It happens sometimes and I understand. Now, can I have some of that deer? It looks too big for one wolf to handle." They both chuckled at the joke.

"Of course you can." Casey said smiling as they ate the warm fleshy deer.
