Finally!!! After YEARS of waiting, we'll FINALLY be able to get the 11 remaining episodes on DVD!!!

And this makes TaleSpin the first Disney Afternoon series to get all the episodes completed!

The bad news? This will be a very limited release...it won't be available in stores, only by registering to the "Disney Movie Club"...
And this pretty much ruins the hope of releasing a "complete DVD set".

But hey, I'm sure some will popup on Ebay or Amazon someday! Still, that's both a "great" and a "not so great" news.

I'll wait until we get some cover art to post the news on the site.

Gargoyles season two getting completed and Talespin finally finished? Is there a fee with joining the Disney movie club?

Oh, boy. Oh,boy. As Donald would have said. It's good to know the series would be completed on DVD. I would have to wait for it, but the problem in my case it's that I don't know if it would be worth for me buying the third volume, because from the remaining 11 episodes I consider that four of them are good and worth to be watched.

Honestly, I have mixed reactions about this- while of course; it's great that Disney FINALLY released a third volume with those eleven missing episodes, I seriously question why they finally decided to do it NOW after a six-year wait. That and it's pretty gimmicky for the Mouse to release it only as a reward for the Disney Movies club, but then, what else can we expect from them? *eye roll*



That being said; I've noticed that a LOT of Disney's old, pre-Touchstone era 'dark' movies tend (that are otherwise unavailable to the public apart from VHS recordings) to end up as club rewards meh, go figure.

I'm sceptical about this news - having third part of Talespin DVD in Disney Club and limited pieces of it... I feel disposed by the Mickey Mouse - the company wanted to do this quickly without the proper respect to Talespin fans.

I agree wholeheartedly *Sigh* Eisner may have been long ousted; but his corporate values still linger, sadly.

Yes, I agree that this feels very "half hearted", like they'll release it but doesn't care much. This annihilates any possible buzz over this release.
And, there are only 11 episodes left, so I doubt it will sell well, when the price is the same as others ($20) which have more content.
I'm disappointed too, but on the bright side, we'll finally have them in best possible quality (I hate Youtube quality, worse than VHS!)

I still don't understand why they don't have a release with all of the episodes in one big box, personally I think that would be a lot easier then all of this other stuff.

I don't think Disney finds much profit can be made from it's Disney Afternoon shows, so they never bothered to spend money to make boxsets of them sadly. :/

It is sad. But then Again what's so hard about making digital copy's and selling them on iTunes? They must have there own digital copy's of them hidden somewhere on one of their Hard Drives.

Maybe if they advertised more, people would be aware these shows were out.

Well, here's more information. We could fear that "Flying Dupes" wouldn't be included, considering it rarely aired on TV and was controversial, but read this :

The US release of Talespin Volume 3 will include the final 11 episodes. This release will not include any bonus features.

The synopsis is as follows:

"For the first time on DVD, the final 11 episodes of TALESPIN are ready for takeoff! Baloo, the beloved bear from THE JUNGLE BOOK, his navigator sidekick Kit Cloudkicker and the rest of the crew are back and soaring to hilarious new heights. So, no bonus features, but that was expected. At least we'll get ALL episodes, better than nothing!

Plus downloading "Flying Dupes" from YouTube and... voila! (as said Don Karnage) We can see multiple times adventures of our flying fellows, especially Air Pirates

Why "Downloading Flying Dupes"? As mentioned, it IS included on that final DVD!
I wonder if the episodes will be released on two DVDs or only one (in which case, they would be overly compressed, but I wouldn't be surprised - after all they fit 9 episodes on each DVD in the other volumes)

I would say it would be released on two separate disks but like you said it wouldn't surprise me either. I suppose though that it depends on the people in charge of the DVD burning and what they decide to do.
