To start things off, yes, I have read the new sparkle character forum topics and so on, and I understand the stretch between acceptable and going TOO far. However, I want to ask what exactly is allowed accessories-wise?

For instance, even though it's not seen commonly, would lions wearing tracking collars be allowed? As you know you see them sometimes in the wild wearing them:

But one of my main questions is, what about characters with earrings? If you think about it, I see how it could happen, I mean, say for instance maybe the character, as a cub, was raised by children and one day lost part of it's ear, as you know kids, would maybe put earrings through the cub's ear? It's quite possible, as with police dogs sometimes who have bullet holes in their ears- it is possible I suppose.

(Lol, I have no idea how I came up with that example XD)

In other movies it's sometimes seen, for instance, Shira from Ice Age, she has earrings I think in her right ear.

So I was wondering, maybe, if it has a story behind it, would it be accepted?

I wouldn't encourage this, but I felt the question needed to be raised, I don't exactly get what IS allowed, I sort of get what isn't, such as stretching it too far will shed loads of accessories, but what isn't stretching the limit besides collars and bandanas?

Tracking collars are allowed, I too time ago, had a hyena character with a tracking collar, that's totally natural as it's realistic and something that, if well developed, can make the character more unique and interesting (what I mean is not something like "Was caught by humans who put him/her a tracking collar. END" that's not very much developed...).
Holes, scars, ears chopped off, that's allowed because lions are wild animals, they fight with preys and with other lions, of course they get scars!
About earrings, I say moderation. I just thought that, as Rafiki has his stick and other shaman accessories, a lion could get an earring or two, or some feathers on his mane but they have to look like something they would make themselves, like something they made from a rock or a piece of wood or a bone. On the TLK movies lions were all natural, they didn't have any earrings. On Ice Age Source, those are allowed but they have to be like Shira's not like something modern, something that humans made because it would make no sense seeing a lioness with a silver earring and a diamond in there, honestly xD

Other accessories such as wrist laces or spiked collar or anything that a lion would never wear isn't allowed. Earrings must be something natural, like I wrote.

Thanks for replying Saske ;3
I completely understand now, I just thought I'd ask since I didn't read a part where what exactly was allowed-accessories wise- was covered.
