For the commission area, we’d like you to take the following into serious consideration. Like with the other sections of the site, these are the rules for this section and must be followed accordingly, as well as respecting the general site rules.
These rules will be strictly enforced.1.)
Do not post personal information. By posting personal information in such a large public eye, you could be calling for some real danger! This includes street addresses, phone numbers, PayPal accounts, and so forth. Not everyone on the internet is who they say they are. Save the personal information for PMs of buyers who you know, for a fact, are purchasing from you.
Also, be sure to ask your parent or guardians’ permissions first before posting personal information anywhere on the internet!
2.)
Follow the tutorial below. By following the tutorial (see below), you’re ensuring the proper neatness and proper set-up. This means that potential “customers” will know what’s where, and how to find it easily and quickly.
3.)
Be punctual, neat, and tidy. If you get commissioned, someone is paying you to make them a very special picture. They may (or may not) have certain preferences; being as they’re paying you to do this, they are sort of like your “boss.” You are required to post “updates” (ex: links to their commission WIPs, or Works In Progress) so the commissioner (“your boss”) knows what’s up. It also gives them “teasers.” If you don’t have a scanner or a digital program, it is not suggested that you take commissions (samples are a requirement!).
4.)
After you’ve finished a commission, remove the person from your “current commissions” list (see the tutorial below). You can have a “past commissions” list (this is optional), with a hyperlink ( [ url= http link] Text [/ url ] ). This follows the “neat and tidy” rule, and so you’re also organized (and have more samples!).
5.)
Art theft will not be tolerated. As with any other section of the site, art theft is one of the worst offences (and the most illegal). Ever. There will be ZERO toleration with art theft (pose, direct image, trace, photograph, etc.). The topic will be immediately deleted (and disallowed from the site for any future topics) and the owner of the topic banned accordingly.
6.)
As always, Follow the main rules of the site. They can be found by clicking
here.
NOTICE: These rules are bound to change, and are strictly enforced by moderators.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
o
Balto Source, its moderators, and members not affiliated with the commission are not responsible for lost money, scams, or a user not following the rules. It is solely between they buyer(s) and the artist(s) of the topic. This includes, but is not limited to, Steet and the section moderators. Other buyers, also, are not affiliated with any “scam.” If you suspect a scam, contact a moderator immediately to report the user. After such, contact your parent(s)/guardian(s) to take further action.
o
What you post you are claiming as yours, even if you cite. Commissions/Gifts with Donations are for special-order, not referenced work. Any references, tracings, etc. will be dealt with in accordance to rule #5.
o
Always get outside contacts! By having the outside contact(s) (e.g., MSN Messenger, personal e-mail, Y!IM, etc.) of the artist, you are more likely to get updates on your commission(s).
