EDIT: ...*headdesk* This critique was written for the first pic you posted... oh well, hopefully it still helps... :/ As for the new one... I won't get into it... but Rex -did- post a nice blueline of the face, I'd probably have redrawn it something like that

ugh I wish my laptop worked... then I could just use my tablet.. but nope 9.9
I feel like all the red/blue lines you've gotten aren't -quite- hitting the nail on the head, but I'm not sure how well I can explain/critique it myself... lessee...
I'll go from the head down... the ear should have a little more depth to it. One should be able to see the other side/'edge' of the external ear if they can see the hairless inner part. The eye looks pretty good, it's expressive and you included some detail; however I personally would stray away from the ellipse tool, or at least use it only as a guideline - just my personal preference, since it gives details like the eyes a more consistent look when you're judging on the whole pic.
I think the forehead to the nose, the line is too dramatic. It should have more of a gentle slope, as well as being closer to the eye if you're going for a profile; a dog/wolf/canine's eyes are at the -front- of the skull.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3213/292 ... cc.jpg?v=0 I know it's not the same breed as what you're trying to depict but it was the best example of a profile I could find on a dime...
The nose pad also looks a bit small/flat. The pic I linked to should also show a good nose shape from the side - sort of a rounded triangle, w/ the nostril showing towards the bottom.
The upper jaw protrudes too far in comparison w/ the lower - or vice versa, the lower jaw is quite undershot. The end of both jaws should meet at approximately the same point, though the lower jaw may slope back/down at that point. As seen here (not a very good pic and I apologize for the self-plug..

)
http://ANBU-Flashez.deviantart.com/art/ ... -124263745Another personal preference, I don't know how fluffy or not this character is supposed to be, but he sort of lacks 'fluff' where I'd put it/where it would seem natural, and appears unevenly scruffy. You have a few lines indicating fur on the left side of his neck, and none on his right. It makes his neck look imbalanced. There's plenty of natural fluffiness/scruff on wolves & some breeds of dogs, quite prominent enough to draw in;
http://animalblawg.files.wordpress.com/ ... gazing.jpghttp://www.dooziedog.com/dog_breeds/ala ... /main2.jpghttp://www.bigpawsonly.com/dog-images/g ... icture.jpgIf he's not meant to be so furry, you could instead better define his neck shape and pretty much leave the fluff out of the lineart in place of smooth lines; I'm not really sure how to explain.. neck anatomy... but I suppose you've got the idea already that the neck will be thinner under the skull, then get a little 'meatier' as it merges w/ the body. That being said...
The shoulders also look small/flat and to be frank, the left one looks a bit painful :/ A dog's shoulder blade may be about that size, sure, but as far as the outward appearance goes, the skin and fur cover such skeletal details, and the whole shoulder tends to blend w/ the body more, and seems to take on the width of the barrel; ex -

The rest of the body/legs/etc seem small/short in comparison w/ the head and neck. If you study skeletal anatomy you should get a good idea of realistic proportions, which of course may vary from breed to breed, but comes from the same basic frame -
http://visual.merriam-webster.com/image ... on-dog.jpgStudying the muscular system as well as simply looking at dogs in motion & at rest should help determine what sorts of positions are actually possible in whatever scenario you draw. I highly recommend Muybridge's animal locomotion photography as a reference for that, secondary to seeing the real thing.
... I'd go on further but -I- need a break from my own rambling... x.o Regardless... I hope my critique helped you out; keep drawing, as much as possible, and you'll get it :3
