I've started a poll because i've saw people surviving after even more horrible things.
For example a Yugoslavian stewardess survived after a plane was destroyed by a bomb during a flight over Czechoslovakia. Why couldn't Zira survived? Most likely she didn't died during an impact with water (but she might had lost her conciousness). The river began to calm down shortly after Zira fell in it. So if she didn't lost her conciousness, she might have been able to swim out of the river.
Discuss plz.

Well when she tried reaching her paw out in that scene, a log came across and it broke at her wrist. I always thought that it broke her paw and that she couldn't really swim from that. Plus the flood was pretty deep and the rushing water seemed like a really strong current, probably could have carried an elephant. lol

Also I'm sure that the women in that plane crash must have had some sort of medical work done, lions don't have that. lol

Zira did not survived, she died. remember? in lion king 2?

Just because Zira fell into the river did not mean that she died. True, she probably drowned in the river, but she also could have washed up on the shore and passed that way. The movie did not show her body the way it showed Nuka or Mufasa in the first movie. The difference with Scar in the first movie is because we saw the shadow of him and the hyenas falling on to him. Away from both movies, Scar could, could, have survived the hyena attack. The same with Zira. She could have survived her fall in the river.

Hmm... yeah... I saw the movie too. I think anyone who is a Lion King fan saw the movie, but, not everyone agrees with the 'Zira died in the river' thing. The whole matter seemed too neat. I'd rather go with the 'Zira committed suicide' thing, even if Disney didn't put it in because it was 'dark'. Would've made for a better climax as far as Zira is concerned. And, like I said, away from the movie, Zira could, could! have survived.

If Zira did survive the fall the producers would probably have included a scene after she falls that would show some kind of sign that she wasn't dead. (Like maybe air bubbles emerging from the water or showing her unconscious body on the shore and one of her paws starts twitching.)

Normally the addition of clues like this is what makes or breaks the character's fate and since nothing is ever mentioned or heard from her again I think that pretty much leads to the fact that she didn't survive the fall.

as far as i know , their will never be a TLK 4 , so i guess we'll never know. anyway , i think she survived.

On Youtube? Seriously? Anything I saw is fan made stuff. As TLKGIRL98 said, there will never be a TLK 4. Whatever we hear is fan speculation. If the Circle of Life for The Lion King continues, it will be only in fanfiction and fan characters. That's it.

I don't know. I love Zira, so I believe that she had survived the impact. Seriously, she wasn't that weak of a lion. And after reviewing the movie I've concluded that Zira would've survived the impact. It wasn't THAT far of a fall (I've fallen out of trees that high and have come out of it with only a broken arm). As for the force of the water, yes, it was strong, but there were a lot of logs and things for her to grab onto. Just because she fell into the water, doesn't mean she died. Disney (I think) got kind of lazy towards the end of the movie, but if you REALLY want to know I guess you can Email the animators of the movie, I’m sure they'd love to tell you.

My opinion, Zira is alive.

Problem is, it's hard to accept it as a canon film because of a whole bunch of misconceptions and plot holes, horrible animation, and really, really lousy characters, aside from Nuka, Zira and Vitani, at least for some people, me included since not many, including me, can't stand the so-called heroes of the story. Not to mention the terribleness of Nala's, Simba's, Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu's return and their animations. Need I go on?

Anyway, despite what the movie says, Zira could have survived that fall in the river with the fast currents and the logs rushing over her, or not. She could have died on impact, or the river could have beaten her into the logs and the really huge rocks and by some miracle she could have survived.

Despite what you may say, and this so-called source of yours, the video on youtube, which I watched, it doesn't mean that you're lying, but it also doesn't mean that you're telling the truth either.

Not to be mean or anything, but you believe that Zira did not survive that plunge into the river while a lot of people do believe she survived. Me, I'm neutral to the idea. I'm not saying anyone here is right and I'm not saying anyone is wrong. *shrugs*

With The Lion King 2 and it's... horribleness, it is what it is. The people who worked on it, in my opinion only saw one thing when they thought about a sequel and the time they worked on it. I would say the one thing, but I really don't want to. They certainly didn't see continuing on from the first film. If they did, well... Let's just say it would have been a thousand times better than what it was.

Dude, I SAW the movie too. It's not like I'm just randomly typing stuff that I know nothing about. Maybe they did intend for Zira to die. Maybe not.

And another thing.

Don't believe everything you see on Youtube, a LOT of the stuff on there is FAN MADE. Yes, the FANS make up what happens. Okay? Youtube isn't hard facts, it's opinions.
