It's nice, but 3D television just isn't mainstream enough in my opinion yet.

In my opinion, 3D is getting extremely overused. >< It should be a nice treat once in a while, but now everything is in 3D. (The second part to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is going to be in 3D for crying out loud. -.-) Personally, I'm not going to waste my money on that crap. It's perfectly fine in 2D and there is no need for it to be in 3D other than for them to get even more of your money.

I completely agree, I'm sick of 3D being so gimmicky and plaguing movies nowadays. I personally never even notice the 3D half of the time, so it just seems like a complete waste of money.

As a person with glasses, I hate 3D. Ever try wearing 3D glasses over regular glasses? Yeah, it doesn't work so well. Besides, I think 3D looks terrible either way, even when I was a little kid and 3D things just started to appear I thought it looked completely fake and boring. Turning a movie that wasn't supposed to be in 3D to 3D will make it even more so. Sorry for bringing anyone down about this, I just really don't like 3D.

Nah, I agree with you. I don't like 3D either. I'd much rather see movies in 2D.

My dislike for 3D has nothing to do with the potential for eliminating 2D. Here's a more specific outline of why 3D isn't great, as explained by Walter Murch: http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2011/01/post_4.htmlHere's the cliff notes: Quote: But the deeper problem is that the audience must focus their eyes at the plane of the screen -- say it is 80 feet away. This is constant no matter what.
But their eyes must converge at perhaps 10 feet away, then 60 feet, then 120 feet, and so on, depending on what the illusion is. So 3D films require us to focus at one distance and converge at another. And 600 million years of evolution has never presented this problem before. All living things with eyes have always focussed and converged at the same point. Movie 3D is not "real" 3D at all, since as the article explains, your eyes are focused at a constant distance while converging at different distances. Real life doesn't work that way, and 3D will not really work in terms of things like movies and TV until it converts completely to three dimensional space, i.e. holograms or something like that where the visuals actually reside in a three dimensional space.

They came out on DVD a LONG time ago, I don't know if they're still being sold or not. All I know is I bought the first two on DVD as a set years ago.
