It seems that Disney has requested the removal of multiple accounts of people who posted Disney Afternoon shows on Youtube (when that happens, Youtube removes the videos under the "WMG" banner)
This includes a lot of TaleSpin videos, even though most episodes can still be found on other accounts.

I think this *may* be a good thing, because it could mean that after years of total negligence, Disney actually CARES about them and may plan to bring some money on them either with the current DVDs or (better yet) by releasing them on legal platforms like ITunes.

On the other hand, if that's only to protect their rights and they don't plan to do anything, that will be one less option to be able to watch the show...

What do you think?

At this point I still think they want only to protect the copyright, it's understandable, but that can be bad - youtube is a verrrrrrry popular video source, and so removing the videos not only disables the option to watch DA shows on youtube,- so less people (I guess there're still a lot of people who haven't watch some of DA shows or even all) can know about DA shows.

From the other hand (which is very doubtfully), removing videos on youtube, next they can *probably* start to promote DA (again, it seems like fantastic), bringing it back to life.

It's hard to tell what they have in mind.
Currently it could really be going both ways : either they won't care entirely, or they will finally start to think they can do some money with the Disney Afternoon again.
We'll see...

It looks like opinions are mixed. They may have something in mind, but I wouldn't bet on it...

I think it may be a sign they're thinking about it again. Because a lot of people post movies up on youtube in parts. If you look up Universal movies or Warner Bros, they never stay up. Disney movies, on the other hand, are almost always up because usually Disney could care less about it. After all, they're the most popular out of all the other companies, and they have over a million dollars in money, so why should they?

If they're copyrighting Talespin videos, I'd find that odd. They rarely ever copyright their stuff when it comes to Youtube. Or at least that's my experience.

Are you sure Disney really doesn't care about their movies being put on Youtube?? That would be very strange...I don't seem to be able to find their animated films in a complete state on Youtube, so I very much doubt about that.

As for them finally caring about their classics shows, I hope you're right. I still think the successes of the recent vinylmations and the comics may lead to something greater.

Well from what I can see... I've been able to find most of the movies I look up from them on Youtube. Here are a few of their most popular...

Lady & the Tramp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaAlaOD5TJs
Lion King: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLQ2z9vt1Hk
Bolt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf7lDw--H3g
Toy Story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrIR2ys02AY

Lols. I dunno. Maybe it's just me XD

You will notice that these have all been uploaded recently (and don't have many views). They probably don't *constantly* remove their films/series, it's not that easy to detect all the uploads. But I have no doubt that the videos to these links will disappear soon.

Were DVD rips on YouTube or no? I've seen many TS videos in very poor quality. Especially bothering was title "Transmitido por SAP en español".

No, I have never seen DVD rips of the episodes on Youtube, even though that would be MUCH higher quality.
I think that, unfortunately, a lot of people didn't make the effort to buy the DVDs. :?

Well, it goes on : this time it seems they've removed almost all TaleSpin videos on Youtube.
And THIS TIME, it says : "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by DISNEY, which CANNOT be any clearer. (previously it said something about another company, and that's the first time I see Disney mentioned)

Again, good news or bad news?...Time will tell. I'm hoping they're doing that because they mean to make the TaleSpin episodes available legally, as digital downloads / video on demand maybe? It'd be about time!!!

Oh, I guess that explains it. I was wondering why I couldn't find some episodes anymore :?
And yeah, Disney should really put the episodes as "video-on-demand" like Itunes, Hulu or Netflix. What are they waiting for? They could make a whole lot of benefits by doing that, and it wouldn't cost them a dime.

In my opinion, it's definitely bad news - this is the beginning of the end of freedom on Net. I must swear my Polish politics, who had written under this inspiration - killing legislative. And I don't wanna pay for downloading one Talespin episode - this Disney series are for Everyone, not for having - money businessmen and businesswomen >;(

I get your point, but THE reason Disney isn't making anything more with TaleSpin is because they don't think they'll make money with it. So if there was a way to prove them we still care, this is it. To me it is logical to pay for something that cost a lot to make, and even if it was made 20 years ago, TaleSpin DID cost them a lot. Of course the main reason I'd pay for it is because TaleSpin is Awesome!
The income could come from advertisement though, I think most programs on Hulu are free. They could do that, air TaleSpin on Hulu.

I agree that in the end, I would just like TaleSpin to be more easily available. For most people (outside of the USA especially), Youtube was the only way to see TaleSpin episodes. That's why I'm saying that, if Disney removes them, then they HAVE to give us a way to make it available, even if we have to pay for it. Otherwise, this isn't fair to everyone who still love the show...What's the point in owning a great franchise like that and not exploit it?! I just never understand them...
