I've got a quick question... mainly about one certain character in the first movie that I would like to see a fic about.

Steele's musher [nameless musher dude with quite an amazing beard and an expressive "What the--?" moment after Balto wins the "fastest dog" race to get on the dogsled team] - has anyone written a fanfiction about him yet?

I mean, he doesn't seem like he has much personality, but he supposedly went unconscious when the team slid down that mountain, but we don't know what happened to him afterwards. Plus, he was about to give Balto a chance too, despite knowing he was half-wolf [which I wonder... How do the townsfolk know this? He looks dog-like enough for my tastes, or at least the proper term would be "mutt-like"], but Steele ruined that in a second.

So yeah, I'm asking if anyone has written [or is planning to write] a fic about this unknown musher of Steele's. I do plan on writing a fic about him myself, but I wanted to make sure no one else had beaten me to the punch with what I had planned. Also, what type of fic would you like to see of this guy? I'm curious, but I still already have an idea of what I'd like to write him in.

Also-also since we are talking about a human character, does anyone write fics for other human characters at all, like Rosy's folks, the wireless guy, any of the other mushers and people that we have seen in the series [not fan-made OCs for the owners of the kids/parents that chose BalJen's pups, mind you - those still count as OCs regardless]? I understand that the Balto trilogy is more canine/lupine-centric than human-centric, but it was because of a single human [Rosy] that Balto even sought after the lost sled team in the first place. I feel that these fics are long overdue - if you know of any that exist, post links to them here!

Also-three-times, what sort of fics would you like to see of the human characters? We already know Rosy grows up [due to her being the old lady from movie 1's prologue and epilogue], and Duke ends up taking Balto into the skies in a plane named after the heroic mutt, but what else? I'm curious... also this may help any other fic writers that may be in a bit of a flunk [or if you're tired of always focusing on the dogs/wolves/etc. in the franchise].

I actually had 2 short fanfics a while back. One was from Rosy's POV while she was sick, the other was maybe 5-6 paragraphs about the musher.

Duke is a somewhat minor character in a fanfic series that I'd started a couple years ago but never gotten around to finishing. But I'm planning on restarting it, so hopefully it will be up sometime next year.

I wrote a fan - fiction quiet a while back focusing on Steele's mushers past.

I think I still have it in my old fan - fictions folder, too. .

If I ever post it, I'm seriously going to have to edit it. I wrote it when I was, like, 12. XD.

Also, you have good writing skills. I've seen some of your stories. You should go ahead and post a story on him. I'd love to see what you can come up with. (My fanfic was basically about him adopting Steele. It wasn't very good. LOL.)
