I thought it would be interesting to start a topic simmilar to the Only One of His Breed topic about Toothless/the night fury species, but with all dragons in general.
So, to start off, does anyone else find it peculiar that while all the other dragons in the movie are spiky/rough and scary-looking, toothless (despite being the offspring of lightning and death itself) is more streamlined and 'friendly' looking? Now, this difference may have to do with the fact that toothless flys at high speeds, and being streamlined makes that possible. But if we take a look at the Skrill (who is also a member of the strike class) it is also known for its High flying speeds. Any ideas (other than Dramworks was making us biased towards liking Toothless while dragons are suposed to be dangerous, ruthless creatures)?

Reason 1: His smooth shape and figure helps him glide thought the air. His pointed nose helps him slice throughout the air faster. Yes a Skrill is in the strike class, but this reason goes with Reason 2 too. Please read.

Reason 2: The designer of Toothless has a cat, and he based his shape and movements off his own cat. A cat is smooth, stealthy, and energetic. Toothless is smoother than the other dragons, and stealthier then the other dragons. So they (Dreamworks) wanted the viewers to love Toothless more then the other dragons.

Theory: So the Skrill is in the Strike class along with Toothless, so they should both be fast, which they are. But the Skrill is rougher then Toothless, so why is the Skrill in the Strike class? Because he can go just as fast as Toothless, but by Toothless' looks, it seems Toothless would be able to go faster. The looks were so viewers would like Toothless instead of the other dragons, resulting in speed, which results in belonging in the Strike class.

So there you go.

Yeah, but if skrills are less aerodynamic, but still go really fast, they have to be stonger, right?

No. They look stronger. What if Toothless looked all scaly and tough? You would think they both look tough. Toothless is one of the strongest dragons, but Dreamworks just made him look smaller, and less rough.

You know how I describe a Gronckle? In three words: Rough, Tough, and as*hole.
I won't get in trouble cuz I blocked out the third letter right?

Well, in their behavior. They arnt very smart, compared to cats like toothless, but they are very loyal, strong, and like to lick feet.
