My favorite character in the whole series is Dunder. Beside the fact that he's a Thembrian (those guys I love), he's a nice Thembrian. O__o Thembrians aren't really nice, I guess, but Dunder stands out from the rest for this reason. It just makes me wonder, what had to have happened for him to be the way he is? (Or what had to have not happened, for that matter? >>) I assume he had/has really kind parents, otherwise he probably wouldn't have turned out so nice. Maybe his parents were peasants, and Dunder somehow made his way up through the ranks? It seems like the Thembrian peasants are less threatening than the ones with power. Beside all of that, it makes me wonder what kind of person he would, or could, be - if it weren't for his position in life that's apparently written in stone. I dunno, it seems like he has potential, even if he isn't the smartest character.
The guy deserves to have a little kindness shown to him, which, of course, almost never happens in the show. I have a tendency to analyze certain characters whom the viewers known close-to-nothing about.

Please forgive me for all this talk about Thembrians, but I have to talk about another favorite character of mine. My second favorite would have to be Warden Slammer from, "Gruel and Unusual Punishment."
This guy is really interesting to me! XD
He kind of has a sense of humor, and I wouldn't think that Thembrians even knew what humor was. O__o It worked out really well, in my opinion - "Gruel and Unusual Punishment" is one episode I will never get tired of. Ever line Slammer delivers is, to me, entertaining. XD
The creators could have done a lot with Slammer, but they chose to give him a bit of humor - a playful side, if you will. Better yet, he's funny while still being "cruel and sadistic." But even so, he always struck me as a fair kinda guy. These were prisoners he was being intolerant with, so what do you expect? I don't know if he's the same kind of guy outside his job (probably pretty close), but it'd be intriguing as heck to know more about him.

Sher Khan is also definitely one of my favorites. Besides being intimidating, he's got a personality to match. He's stoic, humorless, and can be quite dangerous. He's just one of those people you don't want to mess with, you know? I despise big companies and corporations in real life, but this is the anthro world we're talking about. Sher Khan was a predator in, "The Jungle Book," and he's a predator in TaleSpin. What's kind of funny, also, is that nothing seems to frazzle him - he keeps his cool all the time, no matter the situation. XD I just like the character to due his intimidating, foreboding aura.

Yes...I think anyone watching the show has to feel sorry for him. Even Baloo is not very nice to him (using him for his personal reasons, remember "The Golden Sprocket of Friendship")

For sure. It was kinda messed up of him to do that, but I guess sometimes Baloo can be a jerk (like he was to Molly, in "Flight of the Snow Duck.") But then, no one's perfect. At least he kind of acted like a friend to Dunder in "Flying Dupes."

But that's what I like. It makes for more dimensional characters, they don't always act the same way depending on the situation.

Same here.
I'm not saying I don't like it when Baloo's a jerk - I was just stating the obvious: that he was being a jerk. XD
But you're right - imperfect characters are more believable and make the show more interesting. I think it's also what makes Baloo an interesting hero. Too many heroes on television shows are near-flawless and have nothing interesting about them whatsoever, but Baloo's got a truckload of faults (he's lazy, has a weakness for money and good-looking girls, can be impatient, can be dense, e.t.c.) He's just funny and entertaining. =)

Dunder is one of my favorties too. He is such a nice guy, I have often wondered why he doesn't defect move to Cape Suzette, marry a nice girl and have some piglets. He has prior office work experience. I just think that he deserves something better than Thembria and Spigot.

Hey, that's awesome! I've never met anyone who's favorite character is also Dunder. =D
I think he would actually like it in Cape Suzette, but I have a feeling he either wouldn't be allowed to leave Thembria, or that he'd feel too loyal to Colonel Spigot - even if Spigot does treat him badly.
But that's a really cute idea - Dunder with piglets. Awww. ^_^
He really does deserve more. But I wonder if he would recognize something better for him if he saw it. It's so hard to say what his personal opinions of his life are, because all we ever see is the dutiful side to him, or the adventurous side (when he gets into an event with Baloo.)

I think it's obvious, but my fave character is that handsome leader of the air pirates, Don Karnage (roll the "r" :P )
He's both funny AND dangerous, clever (unlike all of the other air pirates), very classy, and I love his voice (many thanks to Jim Cummings!)

If he hadn't got such a team of morons, I think he would have taken over Cape Suzette (and the world? ^^) a thousand times already!

umm this is a hard one.. All of the main characters stand out to me. Baloo for his clumsy and lazy personality, Becky because she makes me laugh with the never ending arguments she has with Baloo, and Kit because he is very independant and he brings the whole family together. The only character I dislike is Molly (I'm sorry to those who like her!). Don't hate me for this but sometimes Molly can be cute but she can sometimes be annoying too! I certainly wouldn't want to babysit her at times! *lol*

I lovelove Shere Kahn and Wildcat. Wildcat is adorable and although he can be clumsy he can fix pretty much anything! I also thought that the Clementine and Wildcat pairing was adorable. I wish she was in more than one episode. :c You've just got to love Kahn for his personality. He wouldn't be the sort of person to hang out with because he is quite boring and only cares about money, but he is very interesting!
Don Karnage always makes me laugh! His voice is funny, his crew is funny, his plans are CRAZY and thats why you've got to love him. xD He'll have to do a lot more to beat Baloo and his navigator though!

Overall Talespin is an amazing series and the characters are individual and well thought out. I can't think of any characters that are better than those in Talespin! That is why I can't just pick one character out of all of them.

...which reminds me I need to start watching the episodes again. :0

I have, since then ;) And yeah, it's another good episode. Gotta love Wildcat and Khan in that one.
There are still three episodes I haven't seen yet, but I'm saving them for special occasions...
