What is your favorite MMORPG? Mine is Wolfteam. And since I am not good at explaining heres a quote from the official site:

Quote:
Wolf Team is a fast paced 3D MMOFPS that features the ability for players to transform between playing as a Human or as a Werewolf. Humans have an assortment of weapons available at their disposal giving them an advantage at a distance. Wolves on the other hand have no ranged attack but are faster and stronger than their human counter parts.

The ability to switch between human and wolf at any time adds a new element of strategy to Wolf Team over other traditional shooter games. Players will never need to worry about running out of ammunition because Wolves have their own distinct advantages such as running on walls and dropping in on other players unexpectedly. In certain modes players can even play as other types of wolves such as ghost wolves that can turn invisible.

Wolf Team has several addictive game modes to choose from ranging from the traditional deathmatch style to Conquest mode that allows players to work in a team to capture as many bases as possible, and Destruction mode where one team tries to blow up the other team's base. The game also features a large selection of weapons players can acquire as they progress through the game.

If you want to play this game you'll have to download...and theres a bit of blood and violence which earned it an unofficial M rating.

So whats your favorite MMORPG?

wolfteam sounds fun but ruins it for me that its transforming with humans.. i dont like that..

But my fave.. is.. im unsure i played only two.

Okay i think il go with World of Warcraft. this is obviously the greatest MMORPG or atleast Biggest out there. but ofcourse most addicting.. i played for like 3 years before i managed to quit but at first playing that game was brilliant, I remember leveling myself up as a Human Mage, ah good times.. i must go out now so i cant really explain much but I dont know of what game is my fave, Runescape or World of warcraft.. cause world of warcraft does bore me now but i use to LOVE it back then.. and runescape im still quite interested in now.. so yeah thats as much i can say

Let's see, I've played a little of a number of MMORPG's... Runescape, City of Heroes/Villains, Ever Quest 2...

None of those games could really hold my attention.
Among game design issues I had (I'm looking at you, Runescape!) I just couldn't get into any of the stories...

I will have to give my vote to World of Warcraft. There is something about the story that enthralls me to read everything. The other main thing that originally drew me to the game was the art direction. 'Sides Runescape, all the other games I played seem to try too hard to pull of a realistic look, something that I didn't like since most of the time the characters would move strangely.
In the case of the more cartoony City of Heroes/Villains, the art just didn't change enough. Everywhere you went, it was mostly always within a city in distress.
With that, top notch music from Russel Brower and the rest of the music team, and the cinematic from the world-renowned Blizzard cinematic team, is the reason why WoW, to date, is the only game I've put money to to play. (other games were free to play or one of my friends had the game).

I am super excited for the next upcoming expansion: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Now there is a second game I'm starting to really get into thanks to a friend of mine: Guild Wars.
I still can't say too much about the game since I haven't gotten into much of the game. BUT it has a good story, awesome music, and the fact that there's no monthly fee is really enticing.

But with that and me continually talking to my friend about the two games, I will put Guild Wars in the second position behind World of Warcraft.

Also super excited for Guild Wars 2!

By the by: Pachers on Nesingwary US (Horde) is my main WoW character. The Medivh US server is slated for my Alliance characters.
I'm willing to play with anyone. XD

Im gunna have to agree with everyone so far. World of Warcraft was by far the best MMORPG i've played. It wasn't so much the story of the game that drew me to it. To this day i still haven't read much of the Lore. There's so much of it and some of it contradicts other parts of it.... ehh. They need to clean that up before i can really sit down and read it. But what drew me to the game was how intense the graphic level was. I mean, it still maintains a 'cartoony' look to it but it's got enough realism in it to enjoy it. Blizzard did a good job with their designs and game mechanics. It looks like alot when you first start. But you'd be surprised how simple it all is after a few days of playing.

I heard something like World of Warcraft looses 90% of their players within the first 10 levels of the game with it's current state. But, hopefully this new expansion they're releasing 'Cataclysm' will fix that. With the uncountable amount of changes they're making to the game, they're loosing players who don't agree with the changes too. But personally i think they're changes that should've been made aloooong time ago.

Still, hands down, World of Warcraft is the best MMORPG to play. In my opinion at least. I know there are others out there in competition with WoW like 'Evony' or 'Runescape' but i don't think Blizzard has to worry about them. The WoW community is already so huge and popular and ever-growing i doubt any of the others could compete.

Lotro is my personal favorite(something of a lord of the rings fan).
I should note that lord of the rings is more about the books than the movies

And it went free-2-play just recently.
My brother had downloaded it when he had run of out time on WoW. If he still has it on his computer, I'll mess around with it.

On a side note, Sunday afternoon my guild and I in WoW finally defeated the end-expansion boss of "Wrath of the Lich King": The Lich King.
I'm just excited, so I though I'd share that.

Ooh Congrats on that! I wish i had the possibility to fighting him really, but i been slow on my leveling and when finally my Mage hit level 80 it was gonna be about 2-3 months till cata so i didnt bother now with gear. so i been leveling myself a Druid. currently leveled 70 today which im quite happy with ^^ though i gotta dread the leveling of northrend.. meh.. Id say World of Warcraft is one of the best MMORPG as its just SO big and so enjoyable. the only irritating things is player vs player is very stressful for me. since everyone can just one shot you now. lich king expansion in my opinion just made everything way to easy to do. i miss raiding in burning crusade. you know what i mean?

Hehe thanks!

It's really up to you on what you want to do before Cataclysm. Personally, I stayed with Pachers, my druid, as my only character, saving the leveling experience of another character (planning a Tauren Priest, or Warrior of some kind) until after Cataclysm. I don't want to be caught in the middle of leveling when all the quest stuff changes.

It's ironic. A mage was my brother's first character, while a druid was mine.

I can't say too much about raiding in Burning Crusade. My brother started playing just before the release of Wrath and I started less than a month after the release of Wrath.

I don't mind PvP. Heck, with the expansion ending, I've become a interested in PvP in WoW more than normal. I like the vast options you can do with PvP.

Hoy ^^ just so dont spam up that topic. i thought id bring this here ^^

I just thought in a few months any gear you of earned will be Gone and replaced for Cata. i know this cause i was a Pro (not bragging o.o) Burning Crusade Raider. I had every decent epic on my Mage and was one of the best in my guild. then when Wrath came out. all that gear was worthless, it helped for a few levels then most of it was replaced with wrath gear. and around level 77 i gave up on my mage. since i did quit after wrath and came back only recently. about 3 weeks ago? and i liked to mix up my characters. i had at the time. 77 mage, 70 rogue, 62 priest, 48 druid and hunter. so i thought to get a break away from my mage il start up on one of my alt characters. so i chose my druid and sure enough. i LOVED that cat form xD so i leveled him up, named Swiftclaw. Feral and Resto spec. and now today i hit level 70 ^^ my task is to get it ready to 80 before cata. so im prepared and all. you know? the only thing thats changed since ireturned was i leveled my mage to 80 (so i can say i did do it XD) then my druid to 70. and after Cata im going to get my druid up to 85. then level up a Worgen Warrior. quite exicted for it really ^^

sorry i ramble alot there. but wow that is ironic. o.o my mage was my first made character. then my druid was second. heh weird huh? so what realm it is you play on? and im taking a wild guess your horde?

Pvp.. i LOVED it in burning crusade cause it was fair and well made. here in wrath its just too.. messed up in my opinion. you can overpower any class. i mean heck my mage got one shotted by a warrior this morning.. sigh, why wont horde leave me alone when i dont bother em? =/ ah well. so ye thats my thoughts

Hehehe... I think we've brought this a little too off topic... XD

But I'll quickly say: Pachers on Nesingwary
...or maybe I shouldn't have done that to an Alliance... XD /shrug
Anyways, I'll bring this to a PM.

To stay on topic: Blizzard announced recently that their player base for WoW reached 12 million. If you wanted to talk about your experiences within an MMORPG and compare them with someone who also plays the same game, WoW is a good choice for that.

^^;

Heh, i gave the druid and mage a try but for me, my first character was and still is, my main toon. Kalgorn. My Blood Elf Hunter. I just love the mechanics of the Hunter. While the constant finger being pointed at me for whipes and being labeled a Huntard at the beginning of every dungeon because my DPS is less than 10k it's not enough to make me not enjoy the class.

I myself never got the chance to fight the lich king. My gear is still from 25 man ToC. I got kicked from my guild right the same week that ICC was released and i haven't been able to get back into another raiding guild since. *shrug* Ill get back into raiding in Cataclysm. It's not too far away so in the mean time im takeing a forced-break from the game.

World of Warcraft by far. <3 My boyfriend introduced me to the game a while ago and I've been 'addicted' ever since. =] God, I remember I was such a noob when I first started to play, thinking that hunters were meele dps and that a prot pally used a two-hander... Needless to say I got a lot better very quickly after I started and when I quit for a while about two months ago ended up with 5 geared out lvl80s. (Yes, I'm a nerd and I love it). Fff. I remember healing 10ToC (when it was the 'big thing') on my resto druid with another druid and all my spells were at like rank 3 (and other really low ones) and still outhealed the other healer. After that Onko (my druid) became very well known on the server I was playing on. XD

And the areas are beautiful - expecially Zangermarsh! I loved those Spore Bats and grinded rep with the blasted Sporeggar to get the pet. Collecting pets was rather fun, <3 On my pally Smiles I even got the Little Fawn's Salt Lick for having 75 (+) pets. x] (But my favorite pet was by far Phoenix Hatchling<3).

....Maybe I'm a little more of a geek than I thought. -.-

That's cause kids are flat out lazy. XD! The first 10 lvls are retardedly easy. If they're that lazy that they can't even get 10 lvls, get recruit a friend. Bam, problem solved and you get extra xp through lvl60. Then it's only 20 more lvls that are still beyond easy to get and they can start getting heirloom gear. It takes a very 'special' person to think it's hard to get to lvl80 in WoW. rofl. I think I got from lvl68 to 80 on my warlock in 2 days - and that was with work and other things. o_O

For me, EVE Online is where it's at. It's one of the more unique MMO's out there.
