Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I wasn't really sure where something like this should go.
Anyway, I'm interested to know which horse colours are the most popular/favourites around the Spirit Source community. I've noticed a lot of pintos (tobianos, overos and sabinos, mostly) around the site, and I've also noticed that these are the characters that tend to get the most praise for their beauty, whilst solid colours tend to be a little more overlooked. I'm not criticizing this: I find it interesting that pintos seem to be more popular with the greater community. But I wonder whether this assessment is correct. Do people around here really prefer pintos, or are they just the characters that get the most comments? If not, what is the most popular colour on SS?
In the poll above I've listed the most common horse colours. Unfortunately I could only put 10 options, so if your favourite is not on the poll, please comment with it below.
I've made it so that you can vote for up to 3 different colours. I've also only listed modifying genes, such as dun, roan and pinto, on their own, without specifying a colour with them. So, if your favourite horse colour is a grullo tobiano, you'd vote for black, dun and pinto. Alternatively, you could vote for your 3 favourite colours, like black, grey and chestnut.
Bay Black Chestnut (includes sorrel, flaxen and liver) Grey (includes steel, iron, mulberry, dapple and fleabitten) Cream Dilute (includes palomino, buckskin, cremello, perlino, smokey black and smokey cream) Pinto (includes tobiano, overo, sabino, splash and combinations) Appaloosa (includes blanket, leopard, few spot, snowflake and varnish) Roan (includes blue, strawberry and all other roan colours) Dun Other (includes all colours and patterns not listed above, such as champagne, dominant white etc)
In addition, whatever you vote for, it'll be helpful if you could comment about it below. For example, if you vote for Other, state which colour you're talking about in the comments.

Chestnut. <3 My favorite horse when I took riding lessons (years ago) was chestnut, and he was so docile and nice about letting people brush him and clean his stall with him around. The horse I was assigned to eventually was grey, and he was a feisty guy. >.<

Lol, good point Kirada ^^;
I know you shouldn't choose a horse based on it's colour, and that it's far more important to have a horse with good health and a good temperament than a pretty coat. But that doesn't mean that it's wrong to have a favourite coat colour/s. Personally, for me it's chestnuts with same coloured/darker manes and tails (flaxens just don't have the same effect on me). No matter what breed/size/shape it is, whenever I see a chestnut horse my heart beats faster and I just have to stop a look at it ^^; Of course, i stop and look at all horses and ponies I pass anyway XD

In all seriousness, I do like the "off-the-wall" colors. My gelding is a sooty buckskin tobiano Quarter pony. I used to own a Gold Champagne stud -- but he was gelded and given to a friend of mine. Her neighbor now owns him as his first horse. BUT I'm a sucker for any horse with unusual markings, too!

Yes, you see it's hard for me to choose a favourite colour. Every bit of a horse is beautiful! The coat is part of the beauty of the horse's body. So, any horse I see I love.

I very much love both roan and dun; all color varieties within those.
