Both movies are acceptable. My top 5 from the original are:

1 Bambi's eyes open for the first time and the owl hoots at him and Bambi smiles
2 Bambi chasing the frog and looking in the pond at his reflection and Faline giggles
3 The Great Prince and Bambi running through the fire
4 Bambi running down the hill and jumping onto the ice and splat, falls
5 Bambi chasing the butterfly and it lands on his tail and he calls it "Bird".

and my top 6 from the midquel are:

1 Bambi, Thumper and Flower practicing their growls
2 The Groundhog
3 Bambi's accidental kiss with Faline at the end
4 Bambi practicing his jumps
5 The Great Prince fighting the 3 dogs
6 A plop of water lands on Bambi's nose waking him up and he sneezes, then sighs

Any scene that pulled at the heartstrings was my favorite. I particularly liked when Bambi lost his mother during winter, as well as when The Great Prince opened up his heart and bonded with Bambi in the second movie.
