It was created and is co-executive produced by children's book illustrator Noah Z. Jones, developed for television by Alex Hirsch ("The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack") and Bill Reiss ("Chowder") and executive produced by Adam Burton ("The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy"). Carl Greenblatt ("Chowder") and Reiss will direct.

It's this statement that scares me the most. the three cartoons above (with the exception of Billy and Mandy) are atrociously animated and "Billy and Mandy" unfortunatly devolded into one of the studist shows on television, the jokes both stopped making sense and stopped being funny all together.

I personally gave up on anything of quality showing up on Disney channel long ago, a channel that should have dedicated itself to the back catalog of Disney feature films, both animated and live action, has failed to deliver for a long time. We've ventured to far off course (in the animation community as a whole) and when things do get better I think Disney channel will be the last thing to change.

In fact, I wouldn't care if it wasn't made by Disney. DISNEY.
What does that show have to do with Disney?

- The style has nothing to do with Disney and looks like cheap copies of Nickelodeon stuff. (and that's not a quality) I don't mind ugly characters style if the show is interesting (example : Futurama)
- The story has nothing to do with Disney either (they used to make INTEMPORAL stuff - not stuff based on "high school" life...) and I doubt this is nothing more than a show with bad jokes and not true characters feelings / adventures.

Seriously, they should fire "artists" who produce such characters designs and stories. Or better yet, fire the executives who allow that to happen. I don't care if these shows get enough viewers, are profitable or not. This has NOTHING to do with Disney. I have seen contemporary TV series from other companies that were closer. (ex : Curious George from Universal, even if a pre-schooler show...)

They kept the same successful style for characters for 70 years, why do they have to abandon it just for copying what others do??

I used to despise the character style of Kim Possible, but now I almost regret it.
And me thinking that they were going in the right way...(Princess & the frog, Epic Mickey...) Seems like there's still a lot to do.

At the very least, I wouldn't care if they were producing other good, classic TV series along with these. But...the closest is Emperor's New School, and it has ended.

At least it's comforting to think that they can't make anything worse than this...right?...

This is atrocious(sp). It's the Jedward of Disney. And as steet said, this is NOT what Disney is about. I mean, Hannah Montana is horrific, but it still reflects the way Disney operates.

I give up with Disney.

At least they won't be spending much money on the animation side...considering. Flash animations are very cheap
If budget is the real problem, they should really start doing syndications again.

EDIT : Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the only one...

If we had been back 10 years, I would have thought about a joke. What's next?

I think this is what happens when the quality control team gets fired...but seriously where are those people who say "Wait! This is a BAD idea lets do something else."

You don't need a "quality control team"...only common sense.

You'd think I would be that simple, but somewhere along the way a number of Movie and TV show makers somehow forgot how you make a decent product. I think the Day has come when we need someone to do nothing more than stand on the side and watch the process and say "okay this is really a bad idea." I was talking to a friend of mine one day when we saw the preview for "G-force" (another movie that did not need to be made) and we agreed that maybe it's time for someone to just say NO once in a while at these studio's when an idea comes through that's just not worth investing in.

But as I said before Disney Channel is a seeming lost cause for someone looking for decent TV watching. We're in an Animation slump and Disney is unfortunately only making it worse for the moment. I can only cross my fingers that "The Princess and the Frog" will be the first step to a return to good quality 2D animation again in TV and in Movies.
