This may raise the hackles of any worthwhile moderator, but I feel I have a legitimate reason to ask. One, maybe two weeks ago, a picture was posted with some very poorly rendered scars. The artist received a lot of flack for it, and I am unsure if the image was flagged as inappropriate, or the artist removed the image themselves. Anyway, I commented on said picture and advised to artist to learn how to use GIMP. They PMed me asking for help making scars. I told them I would throw together a tutorial demonstrating my own method, which is not currently showcased in my BS gallery.

I just want to know what is acceptable before I go promoting something that is against community rules.

This is what the end result of the tutorial will be...

Your image won't show up for me, but a little blood is fine. It can't be gory or too bloody, since the whole 'kid-friendly' site bit. Scars shouldn't be an issue though.

I have never been able to make an image appear in a forum post, no matter what I do. Just right click the box and follow the link to DeviantArt. It should take you straight to the image.

That worked Lol. But as for the image itself, I don't see why that sort of cut/scar would be too bloody.

The reason your image didn't work is because you used the wrong link. =P
When you want to show an image directly from dA like that, right click on the image on dA and click "Copy Image URL" - that's the one you need to paste in the image tags.

Alright then. I feel safe moving forward. Thanks. Though, some confirmation from a moderator would ease the doubt I still have.

I agree with Draco, some blood is fine. Just don't make a mess of blood. Many characters have scars, so it should be fine.
