So here is my tutorial for "I have only MSPaint so I can't make graphics, baww" people.
You CAN make graphics in MS Paint too, especially with additions of other free simple image editing programs.
This tutorial is on how to make a collage/wallpaper whout it being a random bunch of pixelized images pasted together.

Requirements:
- MS Paint (whatever version)
- Irfan View (a free and safe program for editing images. Just be sure to make a complete installation to avoid useless toolbars). I think the same effects can be done in Microsoft Photo Editor, but I don't have it so I can't help you.
- effort ( ohnose D: )

Step 1.
Image
Make some avatars (I made 200X200 ones) and a main image (I changed colours resized it a little in IV)
Explanation of how to make avatars and edit your images in Irfan View is described here - how-to-make-gaphics-with-mspaint-t35972.html

Step 2.
Image
Load your main image to MS Paint. I moved and croped it. Leave some space for the avatars (preferably on the side you want them on the image)

Step 3.
Image
Load your avatars and leave some borders on each side. It turned out they didn't fit to the main image height I croped my main image some more.

Step 4.
After correcting height of avatars & main image, I moved them closer, added some decorative lines and a textt and tadaah:

Here's your collage without using any fancy programs.
