Hello Spinners! ^^

I've been lurking around this site for quite some time, but now i have a good reason to post!
About 5 years ago (yes, you hear that right!), i started working on a game. I've loved Talespin and Baloo for ages, so i wish to make a Talespin game (so much potential!!) I didn't have much experience with Game Maker back then, so i only did a little bit here and then, just for my own personal enjoyment and to learn how to program a game.

But recently, i decided to get more serious about this, and here is the result!



This is a "prototype", a very short playable demo of one level.
For now it looks like a "basic" platformer, it borrows graphics from other games.
But I have a ton of ideas for this project, and i may need some help because it's kinda ambitious ^^...

In the end, i want to make an adventure game (like a point & click or visual novel) with some platformers and shootem up levels.
I have fond memories of the Disney games of the 90s and I wished the best series ever had better games adaptations! So i'm making my own version! ^^'

Just uncompress the file, then launch "Prototype.exe" to play.
If you play it, please tell me what you think ^^ I think it's kinda hard (on purpose because it's short) so i'd like to know if you beat it and how to improve ^^

Unfortunately I don't have time right now, but when I come back on sunday I'll definitely try it!

Well I have played it, and I agree that it's hard, I haven't finished it! But I'll keep on trying!
But, great job so far! A TaleSpin game like that is a dream of mine too, so you can count on me to help on this project!

I'll reach out to you for talking about a kind of partnership we could do with the site, if you agree of course...

I also have a few ideas to improve the game. For example, Baloo is overweight, so there could be ways of showing it in a humorous way : make it so that if Baloo jumps from too high, the ground shakes when he touches it!
Or, have you played the Asterix Arcade version? In this game, Obelix can bump into the ennemies with his belly, I think this could apply very well to Baloo too

Oraki => Hell yeah, it was about time!!! making a fan game is difficult becaus eit requires both art and programming skills, but now i have both, so i can virtually do anything ^^


Steet => I have updated the game with the partnership you wanted me to include - in fact i already had the code ready, but i wasn't sure if i should create my own webpage for the game progress updates or use another site. Now it's decided, the updates will go on this site ^^
No i have never played that asterix game, but now i have looked at youtube videos i see what you mean, that's a great idea ^^


I have a lot of ideas to share, i would really like to hear yours and your opinions too! i'm currently gathering/sorting all my ideas and writing them in a way you can understand ^^
is it ok for me to create a few different topics here? or should i write everything in this topic?

I've gotta some ideas about this game. Can you think about making levels including Don Karnage and Air Pirates, (for example, stealing something valuable... )

Of course, you can post more topics here If necessary I'll move them later, or even create a subsection!
So you're using Game Maker? I tried using it a bit once, but not much. You really did a great job!

Just so you know guys, if you don't hear about me for a while, that's because i'm currently programming the text interface to make written dialogues, "Phoenix Wright" style. It's already partially working, when it will be, i will post an example video!
