Animation Source Forums

I have adobe illustarter CS3 but i rarely ever use it. I've read the help thing and the online manul,the tutorials blah blah blah. But when i try to do something on it something as simple as drawing a triangle with the pen or pencil tool( which i really weird) i wanna throw my laptop through the window. I'd LOVE it if you could give me advice for this and if you do i draw or render you something as a reward.^^

Now for gimp. I can doodle and draw and stuff and as with the adobe program, the tutorial crap is crazy confuseing to me.
My questions
1. How do you get to the clip board thing?
2. How do you attach pics to the clipboard?
3. How do you save to where i can upload them on to the source sites.?

Feel free to give additional advice.
