Forest patrol is now allowed to shoot poachers on sight!?

I can already tell that's going to create some major problems and put many innocent people in danger! Let's hope the rangers know dang well how to distinguish a poacher from an innocent bystander! I guarantee you that the second someone that isn't a poacher is killed or wounded because of that right, it'll be revoked.

Sadly, I don't think this will do very much to prevent it. Depending on how much the law is enforced, I'm sure there are people out there who would die for a chance at the wealth and/or meat brought by hunting the animals. It's like some of the criminals in other parts of the world--so intent on gaining whatever they can that they disregard their own life.
And some things don't seem to be explained: if they're caught after they kill the animal, what will they do with the corpse, and what's to stop others from taking the animal's body?
While I agree poaching needs to be stopped, I think more needs to be done to prevent it.
It doesn't matter what the government, law enforcement, military, or anyone does to stop or limit illegal activities. No matter how severe the punishment becomes for getting caught, there will always be people that will try to step up their A-game as well and try to continue on with their illegal activities by acquiring more advanced technology and using brand new tactics. And even if the illegal activities are going to stop or slow down altogether, it certainly isn't going to be an overnight process. All we can do is see how the governments actions play out and if anyone is willing to continue challenging those actions to make serious money.
