I have, and am, created a comic related to the plot holes left by TLK 1 and 2; I'm not worried about Mufasa and Taka(Scar's) pasts, nor am I focused on Kovu's heir(s), as there are already so many comics that attempt to cover these topics. I wanted to do something different, and captivating...something that makes you feel like it is part of The Lion King, rather than a disappointment like TLK 2 had been to a lot of LK hungry fans. 
It's called
Kiburi, which is Swahili for "Pride", and it tells us the story of Kovu's past...where he came from, who he's related to, and what's going to happen when more and more lion/lionesses realize who he is. Prepare to be introduced to at least 15 new characters, that fill in the story well; hopefully the art is captivating enough to keep you reading, even if the story isn't. I plan on introducing a modified version of this story (a more theatrical-friendly one) to official Disney producers/etc. in the future.
