Yes we all know Kopa was not created by Disney, but he was featured in six lion king books. And how were these books allowed to be published? By Disney of course. A bookcant be published when it features characters not create by them, so they must ask for permission, and Disney granted the permission for these books to be published. If Disney didnt, the publisher and author would both probably sued, the books would probably be taken from book shops and wherever you can get books and gotten rid of. So why wasn't Kopa in TLK2?

The best I can think is that they thought Kiara would be more intresting...
(Personally think Kopa is better)

Of course Disney approved of the books. They have "Disney" logo on them, don't they. But just because they approve something as books, doesn't automatically mean they want them into everything they do. The fact that they approved also "Friends In Need" which contradicts that book series' content, only proves more that they mean the books and the movies as seperate entities.

My best common sense guess is that the main reason why Kopa wasn't in TLKL2 is because he was not created by Disney's emplyees AND was created into books. I don't know of any Disney classic cartoon franchise wherein they would've used anything from books in their movies. The books they obviously mean as nothing more but merchandise.

If Disney had stuck to it's original plan - having the cub at the end of the first film be a boy, Chaka, this whole matter would be put to rest. I think, and probably always will, that Simba and Nala had a son before Kiara. And, TLKGIRL98, to say that so many people are 'brainwashed' by saying that Simba and Nala had a son is just plain rude. We who believe that there was a son are not brainwashed in any way. We just like to believe that the writers of The Lion King 2 made a mistake, and so did the animators by changing Simba and Nala's appearance.

what i mean by ''brainwashed'' is telling people what is not true , or when you say something you think is true to say it officially when it's not true. sorry if i was being rude , it's the truth.

If it's the truth, everyone would agree. But the real truth is that you're just stating your opinion.
