No offense, but that was pointless.

Anyway, I have heard of Scruffy before, but I've only seen screenshots and read a long summary of it. And I can tell you that it has nothing to do with Disney's Lady and the Tramp.

It seems like a very violent and cruel film, so if you like dogs, you might not like it (because of animal cruelty . . . I betcha PETA would hate this film). I would like to see it though.

EDIT: HERE'S the article that I read about on Retro Junk. WARNING: movie spoilers.

well, I'm glad somebody cleared up this mystery before I had to reply..

most of Retro Junk explains what Scruffy is .. but Scruffy is a 3 part TV special that aired on ABC Saturday mornings and is produced by Ruby Spears Productions (Heathcliff, Alvin and the Chipmunks ) no ties to Disney..

i can remeber religiously renting this movie, so much memories.

as for it being a copy, who cares? it was a violent/touching/sad movie that i love to death. so what if it sounds/looks simmilar to LATT or bambi? what we should REALLY be discussing is the movie itself.
*blinks* great, now i wanna find it and buy it <_<

oh! and the cover on the retrojunk site is'nt the one im familiar with.
this is the one, sorry for such a small screencap.

Wow, I've never seen that cover (has only seen the Retro Junk cover). Either way, the cover is misleading.

I've seen copies of this film on sale for about $30 . . . . but I'd like to see it anyway. Or own it.

Hey, Basil: where have you seen that cover? That's cool!

Though Lady and the Tramp is not a blatant copy of Scruffy, it did in fact copy MANY elements. Also, scruffy was released in 1938. Before Lady and the Tramp and Bambi. OP, you are right.

If anyone is looking for the movie, Scruffy, here's a link on YouTube. It was as a TV three part special on ABC in 1980 with animation by Ruby-Spears. Here's part 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZpHkeDmrwg

For an 80s TV special it's pretty good.
