Dear Sir,

today I visited one of my favorite sites, "Disneyscreencaps.com", only to find out that the owner was forced to take down ALL the Disney screenshot galleries as per your request. I am writing this because I disagree with the actions that had to be taken.

First, it is stated all over the website that the owner was NOT affiliated with Disney and that NONE of the content was owned by this person. They were also not making any money by posting these screenshots.

The screenshot taken of the disclaimer is attached to this email.

My question is: Why was action taken though this is there?



Second,this site was interesting and fun for many of us. There are many people, like me, who use screenshots as drawing references. I have been a fan of Disney since I was little, and I love to draw. Being able to see these high quality screen captures helped me learn this certain style and made it fun. Working off these, I have been able to develop my own unique style.

Now perhaps you might say/or be thinking.."Well just take them yourself!" The problem is that not ALL of us have the means or the funds to obtain copies to HIGH QUALITY Disney movies that we want. This site was a valuable resource in that respect.

To add: Not everyone may have used the screenshots for drawing or referencing either. Sometimes we like to make "fan images"as they are called. Some examples include:

1) Artistic collages of screenshots
2) Avatars for forums
3)Signatures for forums

Now say for example, I am an internet blogger. Let's say I want to write an article about the visual elements and artistic style of a certain Disney movie. For the sake of example, we'll use the highly successful: "101 Dalmatians."
What good would that article be without the visual aid? How could you say that this movie had a style like no other? How could you say that it was unique and stood out among Disney's works if there is nothing to accompany it? This is just another important use of screenshots. It proves the point further if they are well captures and have high resolution.

For all the reasons listed above, and many more unmentioned, I urge you to reconsider your decision, or at least come to some sort of compromise. This website was popular, it is very likely you will be receiving many emails like mine. However I urge you to keep the above reasons, and the fans themselves, in mind.
Until something is done, I will spread the word about this issue. I hope for a response from you.

- It was a HUGE part of my childhood. My First Non Animated movie that I watched in my Childhood. I mainly watched Animated movies. xD I really enjoyed it alot when I was young, even Claimed my Father's VHS of it as mine. I watched it so many times when I was little that I wore out the VHS of it.
