Reading thru the rules posted by Steet, I found a couple that are too strict.
The rule about all caps is not necessarily true. It does not mean yelling, per se, rather it could mean:
a. pointing out a detail
b. making a point
Another is the unuseful, or in other terms, wasteful info. Nothing is useless, pointless, or of lesser value. Everything is equal, I'd think this site would support equality.
Third, SMS is fine, as long as its a popular term, like LOL or IDK which explained mean laugh out loud and i dont know. Texting is becoming ever so popular these days, so SMS should be as welcome on this site as laughing.
Everything else I agree with.
Im curious to hear feedback on the matter.
Oh, and one more, asking to be a moderator doesnt hurt anyone the more the marrier.
1. While that can be true, he's talking about when a
whole post is in caps... It doesn't mean that you can't use them lightly within a paragraph to prove your point.

5. Do not type in all caps - When you type in all caps it means you are yelling and it also makes it somewhat difficult to read. There are exceptions to this rule if you are just emphasizing one or two words, or have a line in a fan fic that needs to be in caps.
2. What are you talking about? If something is pointless its pointless. I don't see what is such a big deal about this. It's like your saying there is nothing wrong with spam.

15. No Useless Topics/Posts : Please do not post topics and/or posts that are useless. They are defined as "useless" if they do not contain material that can be replied to in an intelligent manner. Ie, "I fell down today," or "I got my braces off!" People don't have too much to say about that.
3. Again, there are certain SMS terms that can be used on here. There is a list somewhere around here of what is and isn't allowed. This is the internet, not a cellphone network. We have full blown keyboards that enable us to write English or any other language correctly. Just because texting is
SO popular these days it doesn't mean that it's the new English. I personally find SMS annoying when people use it, and not everyone understands SMS language. In reality it's causing my own generation to become lazy with their writing, sadly. There is no excuse to as of why someone can't fully and correctly write out a sentence or paragraph. I frankly don't understand why it's considered "cool" to write with SMS language. All it does is make a person look highly unintelligent... Because of this Steet doesn't want to promote this kind of behavior.
EDIT: Here is that list.
list-of-sms-terms-t21716.html4. Asking to be a mod here has been the rule from day one on this site. You can't just go and pick a random person to become a mod. One must be moderator material. You don't want someone that has no idea what they're doing running around with powers that they can't use responsibly. Steet wants a responsible person who he can trust to be a moderator on his sites. Though now it's mainly the admins (Like myself.) who chooses the staff. It's no easy task, Baltoluv. I went through trial and error with LATTS. The more the merrier doesn't always mean better. I can use LATTS as an example. There were waaay too many mods on there when the site first opened, and they were even complaining about it after a time, so me and Sardonyx decided that there would be 1-2 for each section and weeded out the extra mods. Guess what? Our staff might be small but things get done. Then again LATTS isn't overly active, so you don't need a whole bunch of mods.
My opinion? The rules aren't that strict...Every site has rules and these happen to be the rules here. If you don't like them so be it. No one said you had to like them.

21. These rules aren't exhaustive. This means that there are informal rules that people should respect, and that you can be banned because of something not listed here if it's really necessary.
