hey guys, iv just started drawing fan art... i did my 1st drawing today but i just copied a picture on the pc and then just tryed to draw it the same way... i guess you guys would call that "ripping" but i was wondering if i said it was not myn and i just attempted to copy it, it would be ok?

also...

i was wondering what programs you used other than just drawing them and scanning them into your pc(if you do, do that). I am very fond of the program "Adobe Photoshop CS3" as i use it for work some times and i used to do alot of graphics for forums ect, as you can see from my sig and av.

I saw some gradients that where obviously from a pc program. I was wondering how you did this? can you also draw in these programs?

thanks alot

~Black

I currently use Photoshop CS3 too but before that I used Paint Shop Pro X, until it broke XP.

For practising I'd suggest using Screenshots and using them as refs, there's no problem in that, I did when I first started drawing properly.

There's also DeviantART for good tutorials on body structure and anatomy.

Not bad at all!
I'd say work on the anatomy a bit more, a good way I find is to go to the Lion King Source Images from any of the 3 movies and look at the screen shots and try using them as reference.
If you use one piece of paper and draw mulitple parts of the body, say 1 page for paws, another for eyes, another for the whole head and so on you'll find it's easier when drawing a whole body picture.

Again I'd recommend deviantART for tutorials, I don't have links because my computer is being slow but just typing "Lion tutorial" in the search bar gets some awesome results!

Keep practicing!

Please pm one of the people who expressed knowledge of better ways to draw lions instead of drudging up old topics. Locked.
