Ryan nodded and followed her as far as the house. He went into his room and got changed into some more fitting clothes with a hint of colone wafting off him. Ryan put water on his hands and went his hair, smoothing it back a bit to make him look a bit more regal. He then slipped on some dark blue jeans with a white collar shirt. Long sleeve since it was a bit cool out tonight. Then Ryan brushed his teeth and slid on some shoes, making sure to feed his dogs and to feed Todd before he walked outside.

Erika stepped outside, her pink dress glimmering in the night. She had wore little pink high heels, with her hair neatly pulled back into a bun. "So are we ready?" Erika asked, smiling at Ryan.

When Ryan turned and looked at her he was left speechless. He could do nothing but stare at her for a moment before finally speaking again, "You look gorgeous." He complimented, reaching out and taking her hand. Ryan looked over at his truck, a black Ford F-450 that he had bought to haul things. Deciding to take his truck Ryan began to walk toward it, soon opening the passanger door for the lovely Erika.

Taking his hand, Erika walked to the truck, stepping inside to the passenger seat. Soon, they were off to the restaurant. Erika's chest was pounding, excitement mixed with nervousness. This was her first date!

Ryan minded the speed limits and red lights, not wanting to drive crazy and get a ticket. His shoulder was a bit sore but he didn't mind it very much, it was a good kind of pain. Ryan noticed a really good restaurant that he had been too before and pulled into the parking lot, Famous Dave's, is what the sign said. He turned off the engine and looked over at Erika, getting out and walking over to her door, opening it for her and bowing lightly before asking for her hand once more.

As Erika walked with Ryan, hand in hand, to the restaurant her heart started pounding so fast, she could swear Ryan could hear it. As the hostess gave them their table for two, Erika just looked over and smiled at Ryan.

Ryan smiled at Erika as he took his seat, looking around the restaurant. "My dad used to take me here when I was about 14-15." He said with a grin, looking over at the table. "Always sitting in this booth too." He added quietly. "When I have a son, I'll bring him here too." Just wanting to have a conversation Ryan smiled and sat back, a football game playing a big flat screen across the room.

Erika smiled. "That's nice. I hope you have a wonderful son." Soon, the waiter came up.

"May I help you with something to drink?" he asked with a perfect French accent.

"Yes," Erika told him. "May I have some fresh lemonade, please?"

"Of course," the waiter said, scribbling in his little pad. "And you, sir?"

Erika just smiled at Ryan, while waiting for him to place his order.

Ryan nodded with a grin, "Thanks." He said just before the waiter came. "I'll just have a coke with a vanilla shot, please." He said and looked back at Erika. This was a very nice place and he loved coming here, even though his father wasn't around anymore to take him like old times. Ryan's father wasn't dead, but he moved away a few years back and that left Ryan here with his cousin Felicity.

A couple minutes later, the waiter came back with their order. "Thank you," Erika told him, taking a sip of lemonade. She sighed. "Well, I hope Nickers is doing fine." Suddenly, she changed the subject. "Um, I never had a boyfriend. Have you ever had a girlfriend?"

Ryan grinned, "I'm sure he's fine." He said just before taking a sip of his drink as well. He looked up when she asked about a girlfriend, "I had one but we split up a while back." He said and looked down into his drink. He didn't mind talking about her because deep down they were still the best of friends. Ryan looked up again and smiled.

Erika took a sip of her lemonade. Changing the subject she said, "Well, my parents got divorced. But they are going to get back together again sometime." She smiled, but it faded. A tear fell down her face. "My mom is very ill though." Suddenly, the waiter came back, and Erika quickly wiped her tear.

"Hello again," the waiter said in his perfect French accent. "What would you like for your dinner?"

Erika smiled. "Can I have a cheeseburger, with pickles and chips on the sides, please?"

The waiter nodded. "Of course. And you, sir?"

Ryan felt sympathy for her. His little sister had gotten ill but died from it. He thought it best not to say anything. "I'll have what she's having. Just hold the mustard." He said and glanced over at Erika, "I'm allergic." He said and grinned, trying to brighten her back up and take her mind off of her mother's illness. He wanted to see her happy again. Reaching across the table he took her hand in his and smiled again.

Erika smiled back at him. She gently, let go of his hands. "So," she said, enthusiastically. "Excited for dinner?" She gave a little laugh.

Ryan nodded with a grin, "Yeah. I haven't had anything to eat since lunch." He said and looked over at the football game again. Dallas Cowboys beat the Eagles. Ryan grinned as a few Dallas fans cheered out, breaking the silence. He too liked the Dallas Cowboys and was glad that they had beat them. I should give my friend a call and tell her that her favorites lost. He thought with a grin, referring to his friend back home. He knew how much she liked football.
