Boom! Studios has released the third issue of "Ducktales", and it is...atrocious. I think images speak for themselves.



Yes, I'm serious : this IS a page from the actual, official comic, that costs $3.99!!! (and me thinking I lacked talent for our own fan comic )
And if it was only the art...but the story side is a disaster too! See Chris Barat's review on this :

Now they've lost the licence, it's clear as crystal that they don't care anymore. Even with the first issue of Ducktales being of the best selling kids comics, they're releasing that.

I use to say that *anything* is better than *nothing*, and I still believe it, but when I see this...At least our favorite series avoided such humiliation. A real shame, only one year ago, the future of the Disney Afternoon looked bright at Boom!, with Darkwing Duck and even Rescue Rangers being great (at least on the art side)

I can't wait for Marvel!!!

NB : Thankfully, the art side isn't that bad for the rest of the comic, so my best guess is that they ran out of time and someone who isn't artist copy/pasted the characters and did the coloring for the missing page. Still, that doesn't explain how could something like this be accepted for release instead of being delayed a bit...

Yes, you really are too easy. Everyone at Disney Comics Forum agrees that this is the worst page ever made for a duck book...ever.

Seriously, I think now's the time for Linkara to start looking at Boom's Ducktales comics and give them the review that they deserve. I'll be honest-- I haven't read the new DT comics yet, because I've still been collecting on DWD, Walking Dead and a couple other titles, but judging by the poor reception and artwork and writing, I think it's time that Linkara burns this bad comic for the good of the DT fanbase.

Can you believe that I showed this page to some friends, pointing out to look at the art specifically, and they asked me "What's wrong with it"?

Only at second glances and upon me urging them they finally noticed SOME atrocities.

(Besides one friend, who noticed right away and couldn't stop laughing)

Well I guess the people who never read comics do not have the same eye as people who do
And even more if they didn't read the rest of the comic and notice the quality difference!
