Meeka trudged along the sandy plains, away from his old pride. The wind picked up and he squinted as he searched the horizen for answers.

Prickly thorns scratched and pulled at the fur of the young lioness as she moved further into the dark scrub, seeking a good hiding place where she could be safe.

(I couldnt think of anything, but anyways i dont know her name yet so for now she will just be the young lioness )

the wind calmed and he looked around. Something drew him toward some thick scrub. He began to run, his heart began to thud and he swirved into the bushes. The wind whipped his mane back but he was cut short- he had run into a beautiful lioness.

Kaliah stopped suddenly as she heard something crashing through the scrub towards her. Her eyes widened as the dark shape of a male lion stopped infront of her. She turned away quickly fighting her way out of the scrub as quickly as she could.

he panted fast as he caught a glimpse of her. she was stunning! and she was running! was she playing with him? he raced toward her as fast as he could and just before she could leave the jungle he pounced. tackling her to the ground and smiling- suddenly his confidence was cut short. he took himself off of her and looked at the ground. he felt embarrassed and didnt know what to do next.

Kaliah scrambled to her feet, quickly backing away. She stood frozen, facing him, her aqua green eyes wide with fear and worry.

Meeka was dumb founded. He had no idea what to say and he was fumbling with his words. "i...uh...sorry" he said slowly. He took a few more steps back and plonked his rear onto the ground.

Kaliah stared intensly at the cub like lion infront of her. Slowly she swallowed the lump in her throat and dug her claws into the soft dirt below her. She didnt say anything, and slowly lowered her eyes and stared at the ground. Shaking a little with fright.

"i-i really am sorry. you were just s-so beautiful' he said slowly, still not making eye contact with her.

Her eyes shot up. 'What did you just say?' She asked 'Im what!?"

Meeka held his breath, he was sick of always being shot down- or missing his chances. slowly, as his eyes raised to hers he smiled weakly. "you're the most beautiful lioness i have ever seen and i just wanted you to know that"

Kaliah looked down. 'Dont even joke about that...' she said in a softer tone.

"im not joking, im being honest. may i ask, what are you running from?" he took a few steps closer and looked at her like a small curious cub.

Kaliah moved away from the stranger. 'I know your lying, my family told me i would never be beautiful' She said, still looking at the ground. 'and it doesnt matter what im running from...' Kaliah said, ignoring the teeth marks and messy fur on her body.

Meeka gasped. "you have GOT to be joking right? dont you dare every say you are not beautiful, i come from a family where i am also unwanted. i have been told many times that i will never be good enough and it stings. i know what you're going through. Do not ever let anyone tell you that you're ugly. I dont know you but i know what i see and when i look at you, its like ive been opened up to a whole new light of things. You dont deserve that family. You deserve to be around lions who know what they have when they have you, you dont deserve to be taken for granted. I know i dont really know you but i do know that these words will never make up for the pain you have felt in the past. But forget them, forget them all. You are gorgeous."
