Well I'd say one thing about him, we don't know a thing about him, she did say he was dead in a comic but back then a child could be told that too hide a truth (I'd get too it). I'd say a few ideas I have.
1. He's dead, no crazy story, he just died and Rebecca does not wish too speek much about it (can't blame her). If he did die it'll most likely be of two things, 1, sickness like TB, Typhoid, Pneumonia or Cancer or 2, an accdent, due too the shows conten one may say an air crash but no person I know would EVER get into the aviation business after their partner died, so I'd go along with a car crash or a big fall. Then murder or suicide can't be ruled out, and the latter was a MAJOR taboo back then she she'd NEVER talk of it.
2. She is dirvorced, again a taboo back then and Molly was younger and was told that he was dead, a little rough even by 30's standards.
3. The first two were if he and Rebecca were marryied, now maybe they weren't and that is a VERY MAJOR taboo of the time, Becky comes off as the flirtatious and easerly seduced type and maybe after some years in collage or in some job after she had a night of passion with some guy and Molly was the result. She was able to look after her due too a rich family, even then that's rare for the time but she did it! Anyway she didn't bring it up as it's not the sort of thing you did back then, and having moved a looooooong way it'll be easy too keep it secret.
What do you think? As far as I'm concerned they're all possible.

How interesting... One of the first things Baloo asks Rebecca in my game, is exactly that Quote: she did say he was dead in a comic I can't seem to recall that. Which comic? It could be another possibility. Maybe he just disappeared...

(but the grammar would have been different) The comic writer did that on purpose

I also put 3 in as it's a subject not often talked about back then (even today by some) and did it in part as Becky is twice sweept off her feet by handsom guys (ok one was a con-man but it worked) and both her being from a wealthey family ment she could support Molly and later left due too the view locals had of her and Molly (like it was Molly's fault!). Well, what can I say about it? I'm not offended, but remember that previously women had less their rights than men, for example the financial or sexual ones :/ And these women, who broke that taboo, were rated as s**ts, even of not being initiative for it :/ I know also that this site must be kids - friendly, but it doesn't mean that kids won't get known about some darker aspects of life...

That was the response I was hoping for, thank you! I think we must bring up such stuff and do so in a mature and rational manner.

Ness and Sonic wrote: If I had to guess, I imagine he died like a hero trying to save them Rebecca and Molly before Molly could talk. (Helping them escape from a fire, shielding them from some thugs who would have shot them, ect.) Molly has no memory of the event because of how young she was at the time and Rebecca's trying not to look back because she knows he wouldn't want he to be sad about it. Although, knowing Disney, they might have been avoiding it to so they wouldn't have to censor it out.
The only other thing I can think of is that she was appointed as Molly's godmother if something were to happen to her real parents or she adopted her. Good one! Too be honest I see all as good ideas.
