Frozen
I really don't know what to say about this movie. :/ I just thought it was an OK movie. Nothing to awesome to be raving over like everyone is saying it is. THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!111 I mean really people! This is just like The Lion king all over again. I'm not at all obsessed with it like everyone else is, I mean, It is just one of the few movies that I will watch when super board, not something I would watch over and OVER again. I will get it when it comes to DVD though. I will list the Pros and Cons I had with this movie, and I will explain them to you.

The Pros of this movie:
- Elsa's Character. I loved her Character very much, I could relate to her, and she was a very interesting Character. I wish she had a bigger role in the movie. :(

- Olaf and Sven were adorable.

- Many of the songs were great. Let it go was my favorite song.

- The Backgrounds were great, as well as the Animation.

The cons of this movie:
- The story was weak. :/

- I don't like how many darn songs they put in this movie. (Again, I don't really care for Musicals either.)

- The villain, Hans, Was a cool, but weak villain.

- I didn't like how the Love story between Anna and Kristoff was. They could of done better.

- The fandom... Just Ugh!

-Spoilers for Frozen-
I actually found the Frozen fandom to be very welcoming, especially on tumblr. Yes, there is a crack side to it (*cough* AnnaXElsa *cough*) but they produce amazing fan art and all the rp blogs I've encountered all have very good writing skills. I was nervous about this movie at first, after seeing the first teaser they put out, it was like Disney was hoping for it to fail or something. But no, Olaf was actually really good. He was the childlike and happy part of Elsa, while Marshmallow was the sad Elsa, who shut everyone out. Plus, the way the environment of her castle shifting from lovely to jagged and sharp with her emotions changing was a great touch. Yeah, Kristoff and Anna's romance was sorta random, but no one is saying they'll end up getting married. I really liked the songs, 6 songs wasn't too much for me, and at least they actually moved the plot along, unlike some other older disney movies where they just stood and sang. OH, and the norweigan influence was also great, just how it began with that mesmerizing song it instantly reminds you of Lilo and Stitch or the Lion King, there was also another Norwegian song during the Coronation, and I would also like to point out the lovely brief singing after the reprise of for the First Time in Forever. This movie is too good to me. It breaks all the cliche's, even the one's seen in the most beloved movies on here like Balto or Lion King. She threw away her life for her sister, and if the beginning wasn't heart breaking I don't know what is. Just a really strong film.

On last thing about the fandom, they've produced some amazing covers, like, wow. If you have the time, look up a viola cover of Do you want to build a Snowman.

The Nut Job

Based on the TV commercials that were shown for this, this movie just seemed to scream cheesy slapstick jokes, annoying characters, a nutty storyline (pun intended), and an excuse to overplay Gangnam style again. However after reading a little bit about it, I decided "What the hell?" and gave it a shot. Very glad I did.

The storyline was pretty typical, but luckily there was an important purpose for the animals to try and obtain nuts and not for the sake of loving them and wanting more, which was what the commercials seemed to imply. Also really liked how the two plots were very related to each other and pretty much needed each other to progress the movie. Were there a lot of slapstick jokes? Yes, but thankfully they were perfectly timed and executed and they weren't overused. Definitely gave me plenty of good chuckles. The fact that Gangnam Style was heavily used in the commercials for this movie was enough to make me want to gag at it, but thankfully, it wasn't used much in the movie. It was only used in a 50 second montage (and it was just the "instrumental" parts, which actually made the scene funnier) and during the credits, with a decent score taking up the rest of the movie. To me, the animation was great, especially when you can clearly see the character's features. But there were a few instances that would have made those more critiqueful about animation cringe or roll their eyes.

But by far my favorite aspect of this movie were the characters! Wow! Almost all the characters had major or important roles and the voice acting fit the characters' roles perfectly! My favorite characters were Surly, Andie, and Buddy. Surly's character development was outstanding and since I always liked the role of "the loner the wants to be alone, but appreciates company" (because that's pretty much how I am) his role really appealed to me and I could kind of relate to him. Andie was the only one (besides Buddy) that showed compassion for Surly (a character role I like) and she was the one that wanted the best for everyone, but was caught in the middle between her viewpoints and others, which also happens to me at times. I was actually hoping there would be some sort of love interest between Surly and Andie, so I was a bit disappointed it didn't happen, but it was suggested a few times so maybe there's a potential plotline for the sequel. Despite Buddy never talking, I loved him simply because of his "innocence," how important of a character he was for progressing the story forward, and his love for his best friend. Grayson was my least favorite character. His upbeat ego combined with his idiocy made me want to slap some sense into him.

Overall, very glad I watched this movie and I'm looking forward to the sequel.
