April 1 has held a profound meaning in the NASCAR world since 1993, when then reigning Cup champion Alan Kulwicki was killed in a plane crash en route to a race at Bristol. For this past weekend's top 2 finishers in the Cup race, it was a stirring of old memories, as both drivers are in cars that have ties to Kulwicki's 1992 championship winning team.
