SPOILER WARNING: This Roleplay takes place after the events of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and may contain spoilers. If you have not watched either of these films, continue reading at your own risk!

Plot

Several months have passed since Zira's downfall. Kiara and Kovu, under the guidance of Simba and Nala, the current ruling pair, are determined to help their two prides mend and rule the Pridelands as one. However, some wounds simply run too deep for time to properly heal. Despite playing a key role in the uniting of the two prides, Vitani soon decides to make a fresh start for herself outside of the Pridelands.

Unfortunately, shortly after Vitani's departure, a series of disasters plague the Pridelands, spreading unrest in their wake. Worse yet, a new threat emerges from within the new pride in the form of Ukali, a former Outlander. Ukali finally sees her opportunity for power, and plans to seize it by nurturing the distrust growing within both groups, effectively driving a wedge between Pride and leaders. But usurping control may not be her only aim. She still needs a king, and her eyes land on one candidate in particular: Kovu.

Will Kiara and Kovu be able to keep the peace, and more importantly, will their relationship survive the trials about to come? Will Vitani ever return in time to learn of the pride's fate? It is the age of new beginnings and crossroads reached. Regardless of the outcome, their lives will be the same nevermore.






































































Name: Vitani
Gender: Female
Species: Lioness
Role: Former Outlander/Rogue
Age: 2 years
Appearance: Like many of the former Outlanders, Vitani has a lithe and angular build emphasized by wiry muscles. Her fur is a dirty tan-ish a few shades lighter than many of the former Outlanders, but considerably darker than most Pridelanders’ more gold or cream coloring. Her eyes are gold with pale blue irises. She has a permanent tuft of unruly fur on her face that falls in what looks like “bangs”.
Personal History: <SPOILER ALERT!> Vitani grew up in the barren Outlands, being raised by a group of lionesses and their leader, Zira, her mother. This group was quickly dubbed the "Outlanders" by the “Pridelanders” shortly after their exile. Growing up in this environment, Vitani quickly learned how to care for herself. After she was a few months old, her mother spent spare moments not spent on preparing Kovu for his "mission" on training Vitani basic battle tactics -and wanting to please her temperamental mother, Vitani devoted herself to these sporadic lessons. Her hard work eventually caught her mother’s attention and earned Vitani a spot among Zira's elite war generals. However, after this accomplishment she also gradually began to realize the extent of her mother's madness, which eventually led her to betray her mother's cause in the midst of battle. Unfortunately, the lioness still bares deep emotional scars from Kovu's initial betrayal, Nuka's senseless death, and Zira's destruction.
Personality: Vitani has an aloof and bitter demeanor which most find off putting, violent temper when provoked, and quite the chip on her shoulder. She never trusts anyone fully and tends to treat her allies with an often unmerited wariness. Her words are often barbed and carry a sharp, sarcastic bite to them. She does have a hidden tenderness that she usually reserves for her younger brother, but she'd rather die than admit it to anyone. She once believed that the ends justified the means, but recent events have forced her to reconsider this.

Name: Cheko
Gender: Male
Species: Cheetah
Role: Rogue
Age: 9 months
Appearance: Cheko has a petite, lithe and slender frame -even for his age and species. His ears and paws seem slightly oversized at a glance, seemingly to emphasize his small stature even further. His pelt is a lighter cream than the typical burnt gold of most cheetahs and his spots are more of a chocolate brown than black. In contrast, his eyes are a rich brown color. Like many juvenile cheetahs, he still has some remaining baby fluff along his spine and the crown of his head, though his tends to stick up more than usual, giving him a spiky and somewhat goofy appearance.
Personal History: Cheko was orphaned at seven months when his mother died defending him from a rogue lion. Somehow he was able to fend for himself and survive by scavenging the abandoned remains of other predator's kills and hunting small game when he could.
Personality: Cheko has a laidback and optimistic personality, choosing to find the positive and poke fun at adversity. Because of his young age, he tends to act naive and somewhat gullible, though the wilderness proves to be a strict teacher. Cheko tends to be a bit of a pushover, and is more than slightly self conscious of his stature making him easier to be overpowered by other animals. This often causes him to act cowardly at times, and sometimes he will choose his own self-preservation over helping a friend.
Crush/Mate: None
Extras: Cheko often runs a damp paw along his “baby fluff” when he thinks no one else is looking.

Name: Nala
Gender: Female
Species: Lioness
Role: Pridelander/Queen
Age: 6 years

Personal History: <SPOILER ALERT!> Nala grew up in the Pridelands as Simba's best friend. However, after the death of Mufasa (and the presumed death of Simba) the rest of her childhood was spent fighting for survival under Scar's reign. After the Pridelands' resources were completely spent, the young lioness took her hunts outside the Pridelands and used the opportunity to search for help -eventually finding a very much alive Simba. The two lions returned to the Pridelands -overthrowing Scar's rule and expelling the hyenas- where Simba took his rightful place as King. Shortly after these events, Nala gave birth to a single cub, Kiara -her daughter and Simba's heir. Nala continues to rule by Simba's side as Queen, but she has relinquished some of her responsibilities to Kiara and Kovu so the two young adults can begin learning their duties in preparation.
Personality: Nala is naturally kind hearted and nurturing and extends this to everyone, but sometimes she can be too "motherly". She is very confident in her own abilities and headstrong, though sometimes this translates as arrogance.
Crush/Mate: Simba

Name: Brutus
Gender: Male // Lion

Role: Pridelander
Age: 3 years old
Appearance: Brutus is a stocky male with a thick black mane. Brutus has beautiful hazel green eyes, like his sister has almost. His legs are a little stockier than the average lion but he is bigger than the average lion is supposed to be. Brutus has a couple scars on his sides and leg. A few are on his face but nothing unattractive!
Personal History:
Birth - 5 weeks || Samantha and Brutus were born and were living the good life with the pride, being the alpha male's children after all.
5 weeks - 4 months || Brutus actually was attacked by an adult lion but being as tough as he is, Brutus held his ground. There wasn't a winner, since his mother broke up the fight before anyone could do any serious damage.
4 months - 1 year || Pretty soon, fighting became a regular thing for Brutus and Samantha so being actually accepted by the pride was a little tough. Brutus had gotten in at least 5 fights in a 4 week span. All over the same thing, protecting his sister and himself. But one fight had to do with food.
1 year - 2 years old || Brutus and Samantha were kicked out of the pride, left to fend for their own. No more than 3 weeks into traveling, Brutus and Samantha were attacked by some outlanders looking to have fun. Brutus was the one to get attacked the most. Many jumping on his back and some grabbing his legs. He fought back hard to keep his sister safe.
2 years old - 3 years old || After that encounter, he looses Samantha in all the commotion. They stayed separated for about 3 months before they found each other again. Brutus noticing she had young cubs with her now. He didn't mind really, so he didn't ask.
3 years old - Present || He and Samantha stumble across the pridelands, soon being accepted.
Personality: Brutus is normally very quiet, making little to no eye contact to anyone but his sister. He has a very edgy attitude sometimes that always keeps him alert. Brutus won't get into any fight he knows he can't win, but he would fight anything in the world protect his sister and her cubs. Brutus doesn't show his feelings much and has a very hard time expressing himself.
Crush/Mate: None

As Brutus lay under the hot sun, he let his mind wander. Getting lost in thought, Brutus stood up, wanting to be alone for a minute. Wandering out into the outlands, Brutus was attacked by a few lionesses. Fighting them off, Brutus couldn't help but think how he let himself get here again. One lioness dug her claws into his back while the other grabbed him by the throat, which was protected by his thick mane. Finally Brutus had enough and snapped. Swiping the lioness in front of him with his claws out, making her fall back. Brutus turned and gripped onto the one on his back, ignoring the pain. He snatched her off and slammed her onto the ground. Brutus usually fought like this but it seemed so reckless and messy today for some reason.

Suddenly, more and more lionesses piled onto him. Brutus noticing only the dark fur colors until suddenly, he saw a tan streak. It was Samantha here to help her brother out. Brutus and Samantha worked as a team to help fight the lionesses, who soon retreated anyway. Brutus turned to his sister, "Let's get outta here." He said calmly, walking away with his sister at his side. "How did you know I was out here?" He asked, trying to think of a really good reason why he was even out there. Samantha gazed at him, "I could hear you." She said. She would never let her brother go into battle alone. Never in her life would she ever leave her brother to fend for himself, no matter what happened. Brutus nodded, having a slight limp in his back left leg. Nothing time couldn't fix.

Thanks for showing interest, but I don't think your characters are right for this RP.

For starters, I'd prefer the Pridelanders to be "born and raised Pridelanders"; with all the drama that's about to happen in the Pridelands, the last thing I can see Simba, Nala, Kiara, and Kovu doing is accepting a few rogues into a pride that's already experiencing several different power struggles and trying to unify two formerly hostile groups. Second, in real life, prides are more of tightly knit family groups. Having more than one adult male within a pride is a rarity, and once a female leaves one pride, it's more likely for her to create a new pride with a male. It is far more likely for a male to join a pride than a female (and usually that's to kick the older male OUT).

In other words, Vitani's subplot as life as a rogue is more flexible, while the Pridelands subplot is much more structured.

And finally, the names. Disney purposefully chose Swahili names for most of their characters. For example, "Simba" means "lion", and "Vitani", although not a real phrase, roughly translates to "War, I am". On that note, in Vitani's case, her name reveals something about her character, or at least gives some insight into Zira's plans for her.

With my OC, I chose the name "Cheko", which means "laughter", took into account a real cheetah's personality traits, and worked both into his character.

I do admit my error about not being clear about the names, and when I rework part of the plot, I will post a link to a website where I got a few ideas.

OOC: No, what I'm saying is that they need to be altered. They'll probably be just fine as rogues, just not Pridelanders. Though, you two might want to take a cub each, since both of you seem to have their histories already worked out. And yeah, the names need to be changed, but I posted a few links that will hopefully make that part easier.

Name: Simba

Personal History: Has been born as the only son of the Pridelands royal pair Mufasa and Sarabi. His jealous uncle Scar killed Mufasa and exiled Simba, making him believe that Mufasa's death was all his fault. Simba then lived a carefree life in the jungle with his friends Timon and Pumbaa until he grew up. He then accidentally met up with his childhood friend and future mate Nala, and also the baboon shaman Rafiki, who both knocked some sense into him and reminded him about the Pridelands. Simba returned, defeated Scar and reclaimed his place as a rightful king.
Then he and Nala had two cubs, Kiara and Kopa. Simba and his pride then had to fight Zira, Scar's mate or follower, who wanted revenge for Scar's death and take over Pridelands. At the end Simba, with his daughters indirect help, defeated Zira, and then let Zira's son Kovu and other Outlander lionesses join the pride.
Personality: A brave lion and a strict ruler, also the first one to give advice to whoever needs it, also friendly and smart, though he still has hard time admitting and believing that something he does could be wrong. Even after letting Kovu and other Outlanders join the pride, he still doesn't trust Outlanders that much, and keeps a watchful eye over them.
Crush/Mate: Nala
Extras: Son of the previous royal pair Mufasa and Sarabi, mate of Nala, father of Kiara.
RP Example:
It was an early morning. The mighty king of the Pridelands walked out of his cave, took a deep breath of cold air, and headed towards the very same Waterhole he used to play with his Queen at when they were cubs. His head was full of thoughts. All the time he thought that everything he did was right, and if it wasn't, his father would always correct him and show him the way. But even now, after all is set and done, Simba still ended up thinking if letting the Outlands join the pride was the right thing to do. Surely, that moment they looked innocent, and they could've possibly changed, but no one, not even the great king himself could ever be sure if they really have changed...
Simba looked at his reflection in the perfect blue water, and sighed once again. Then he stared up into the morning sky, seeing few stars still shining bright up there. One of them could possibly be his father.
"Father...I know I have asked for your guidance so many times, but you're the only one who knows the truth, and the only one I can really trust. "Simba said, and stared into the horizon for some time, thinking. Then looked up again. "Tell me what should I do now. I don't feel that I had done everything I was supposed to do, or if I had, then not everything is fair. I know it. And...Please, I just need to know if something has to be changed for the sake of my family. If there's anything, I'll do it." the king finished his speech, laid down near the Waterhole, and fell into an uneasy sleep.

Name: Imani
Gender: Female
Species: Lion
Role: Former Outlander
Age: 4 years
Appearance: Like many of the former Outlanders, Imani is very thin, has an angular body shape. Her fur color is basically dirty grey with a lighter muzzle and underbelly. Her eye color is dark brown, and she has a little bit of a beard, similar to what Zira had.
Personal History: Imani has born as the only cub of the rulers of one pride away from both Outlands and Pridelands. However, there was little food where they lived, and soon a much stronger rogue defeated her father in a fight and took over the pack. Imani was forced to leave.
While wandering around, she met up with an older lionesses Zira, and stuck with her for the rest of her life. Imani was forever grateful that Zira let her stay around and fed her, so she ended up obeying Zira and doing whatever she asked.
Personality: Around Zira Imani was rather shy, kind, but serious and loyal. Over time she rather changed: now she is a sly, sometimes even a show-off lioness, though she still carries her loyalty and seriousness. She always pretends that she is kind and friendly to the Pridelander leaders, but in reality she only wants to avenge for Zira.
Crush/Mate: None.
Extras: None.
RP Example: Imani has been laying down nearby the pride cave for a good half of the day. Life here in Pridelands was nothing like in Outlands: there they had lots of things to do, they had to train, to fight for their lives. Here they are basically spoon-fed and have no worries. Life here was so boring that if not the frequent hunts for the pride, she really would've ran away from there. And also, she always remembered her good friend, her idol Zira. Imani could never get the vision of Zira's death out of her head. She had to avenge Zira, avenge the one who was so unfairly killed...
Imani stood up and walked up to her Outlander "sisters". She had nothing better to do in this boring land.
