Animation Source Forums

I don't know much about the rest of you but I think that another source should be made. I get almost everyone likes Disney characters and Disney related role plays or just plain free-for all role plays. However, I think that going somewhere for a specific topic in what interests you would be really cool too. I mean, if you see enough of one topic in the general open role plays, wouldn't it just be best for creating a wide general section for each popular topic?
I was just thinking of putting everything into a category, for example;

1.) Human Role Plays (Realistic)

2.) Animal Role Plays (Realistic)

3.) Human/Humanoid Role Plays (Fantasy & Fandom-based)

4.) Animal Role Plays (Fantasy and Fandom-based)

So you won't have a bunch of mixtures of everything into the general open role plays. It would be like, you know what your looking for so you can easily go there and find a huge list of role plays on that topic without having to search for them scattered all over the place.

For example;
If I want to go to a werewolf roleplay I don't have to go through the general role play section and scan through I just can click, Animal Role plays(Fantasy) and it would take me to a section with just a huge variety of what I know will already be fantasy. Instead of going through each one and be like, "Human(realistic), animal(realistic), animal, animal, human, human, human, fantasy, ect.
It'll just be like;
Werewolf, Griffin, Unicorn(?), ect.


This actually hasn't been one of my best ideas but I thought it would be pretty cool, if it was possible I mean. If you don't like the idea, that's fine, I'm bored and brainstorming about everything right now..

I don't think it's a good idea. Animation Source is more a fan site than roleplay site.

Other than the obvious issue which Troll pointed out, the roleplay sections in general aren't very active nowadays. Perhaps I could see some sub-categories added if there was an abundance of roleplays and the whole section was actually over-crowded and confusing, but just looking at the General Open Roleplay board, there only five or six active roleplays, most of which are of rather poor quality anyways. All the other sections (Balto, TLK, Genearl Private, ect...) have maybe one active roleplay, though most have none, and they are littered with one-line posts and horrible excuses for plot lines. There really is no sense in splitting up so few topics into different boards. Besides, to use your example, if you are looking for a werewolf roleplay, how long does it really take to click on five or six topics and skim through the plots? (Especially considering most roleplays have plots that are three or four sentences long in the first place, but I won't go into that particular rant right now). Ten, maybe fifteen, minutes? It's just not really worth the effort. Perhaps when the roleplay sections were active and of a good quality, it might have been plausible, but even then it wouldn't have really been worth the time to create them, the effort to convince steet to do it, and the time for the members to adjust.

Alternate Suggestion: Something that used to be quite common place would be to add what type of roleplay it was beside the title in the name. (ie) Title Of Roleplay *realistic dog rp* -- This helps to skim through the titles and make the quick decision to look into the rp or not. As far as I can see, most roleplays currently have this sort of tag, so again, it's organized enough for the couple of roleplays that exist.

We already have the issue of members joining this site just to roleplay and make characters n' such, we don't need anymore. it's also against the rules to join this site to just roleplay and chat in the other board.
