Again...no update...ARG! I'm about to go CRAZY! Really, guys, I'm trying to get it done, I really am...it's just proving rather more difficult than I anticipated. I've got about three solid pages done so far...but the rest keeps screaming to be rewritten over and over and over again! I'm just not satisfied with it yet. The As-yet-unidentified wolf pack are proving to be somewhat of a hastle, as just when I think I have them down, I see that there are mutliple holes in their reasons and motivations (among holes in a great many other places.) Part of me wants to just have them all storm in and slaughter Forest, Sabbath and Pride as they stand and have done with it - but I know that's just not my style. Trust me - the last chapter will be very sweet and all the evil dogturds will be SEVERELY pwned. I'm doing the best I can...but I'm afraind I'm going to have to ask you to just be patient with me, as my schedule's arleady cramped as it is.
Also, some of you have expressed an interest in seeing me draw out certain scenes - which only might come to fruition in the far future, as I'm busy with a few other comissions at the moment. However, anyone else who feels like doing a few illustrations is welcome. In fact - and this is just a spur-of-the-moment, top-of-my-head idea here - I'd like to issue this challenge to all the fans of my little story; pick a character - any character - and try to draw him/her and I'll put the pic in the story when I finally post it on the Fanfiction portion of the Source (after I'm done editing it of course.) The same goes for any particular scene from any chapter thusfar (or soon forthcoming) in the fic - draw it out and I'll put it in!
I think it'd just be kinda cool to see what you guys come up with since you only have the character descriptions to go off of - and I feel like it would sorta be really cool to see what you guys think a character looks like in regards to my own image of him/her.
Plus I'm just too swamped right now to do many Newfound Emotion drawings, as I'm still trying to finish my huge anthropomrphic art project in addition to all my scholorary duties as a high schooler (not to mention trying to get a crew together to start picking locations to start shooting my short film.)
So, yes, you could say I'm a bit overloaded right now...but fear not! I PROMISE this story is NOT dead - I would never do that to you guys, not when we're THIS close to seeing justice served! All I'm asking for is a little more time and patience from you guys. I know you've been waiting for too long as it is (and I'm sorry I can't free up more time or bribe my muse to give me inspiration) but the end is coming soon! Just hang in there!
All my love and best wishes to all of my devoted fans,
God Bless and Keep you all,
BaltoLuver63

balto678 wrote: There's nothing i can say about this story that hasn't already been said at least a million times by now but I just felt like making one comment. Im not shooting you down or anything but it's just something I noticed when reading these last few chapters. Don't you think it's getting a little dirty?
I wouldn't say it's exactly entirely dirty but there are alot more at this point than there was at the beginning. I still can't wait to see how you're going to finish this one up though.
Yes, I must agree with you - it is getting rather more dirty now near the end. However, you must remember that this story is itself over two years in the making and I'm rather proud to say when I look back over it, I can see myself improving with every chapter. The content is better, the chapters more structured, the dialogue grows less and less choppy as the pages roll by...and yes, it does seem to get a bit more risque in certain parts - losing some of the innocence of former chapters in favor of a plot that's a bit more gritty and down-to-earth in the later ones.
Since I've been writing for so long, I'm starting to try and see just how far I can push the envelope in certain respects - a process all writers go through at some point or another, I'm sure. (Rest assured, I know there ARE limits to certain aspects of writing on this site and I'll continue to respect the Rules of the Territory - nothing sexually or violently explicit - besides, while I'm good at some things, when it comes to the birds and the bees, I'm sure it would be tasteful and all, but I don't think I could anyway - I tried writing that stuff a while back and found it rather unappealing after a while.)
If any of you have been offended by anything I've written - be it recently or long ago - I apologize. That wasn't my intention - I just wanted to get a little nasty to show what scumbags Forest, Sabbath and Pride are - and to further justify the coming bloody confrontation between the three of them, Balto, Kavik and the rest and the wolf pack. The violence I'll put in will not be senseless overkill; there's a valid purpose for their anger - but then most of you know that Kodi and Dusty's rescuers have more than enough reason to 'get a little mean', if you catch my drift?
God Bless and keep you all, my friends,
Love,
BaltoLuver63

I'd have to say that I also agree with you, balto678. It is getting a little dirtier now, isn't it? But hey, you can't always sugar-coat things.
I also agree with you, BaltoLuver63. You are DEFINATELY improving in leaps and bounds. And as long as you write, you'll improve.
...
And see? There you go again, mentioning the wolf pack... Oh, the suspense....
I suppose it's worthless to ask who comprises this wolf pack...?
Anyway, keep writing. Can't wait for the next chapter here!

I just have to say, well, I want you to kill or beat the bad guys but I DON'T I know they are weird and all, but they are dang smart! They did a really sick move just here but....it's a really good move if you think about it. Kodi in rage will most likely make a wrong move, and poor Dusty. oh the story! I NEED MORE!!!!
I don't like the bad guys in this, But I THink they so COOL! They are smart and well you see what they can do. Although I know they are BAD. But are like a bada$$! They are cool! They know when and how to do things. Those villains are the best!
I can't help it, this story is great, the romance and the villains are the best in this! man peeps just look those bad dudes are pimpin out! They have the good guys just sucked into there plan smoked 'em! Can they be saved is the question, I personally Think Kodi is in REAL danger, and NEEDS some help, with those great bad guys. (kinda like in superman returns I was voting for lex but he lost ) I almost or might be voting for bad guys in this one...it's going to be close.
More give more, more MORE! Give me MORE, Untile the end, GIVE ME MORE!! Your stabbing and twisting slowly! Just stab and quickly twist I wanty! More! PLEASE!!!! Sorry I don't want to rush you, I just this story is so dang good.....

Ahhhh! The guilt! Stabbing me in the chest!
Seriously guys - am I trying very hard to find the time and energy to finish this off...but it's proving difficult, as Track season is scheduled to begin next week and I'm under pressure at school because the grading period is almost up and I have a HUGE art project to finish - plus I've been trying to break away from copying other peoples' styles and create my own, and it's going well. All in all, my plate is rather full at the moment!
Forgive me...but I've been going through a weird stage - I'm at the point where I'm starting to like drawing more than writing...for a while I just didn't feel like writing anything...but I've recently gotten back into the swing of things and it appears I'm back with a vengence! I really do mean it when I say how sorry I am that I've kept you all waiting for so long...two months...wow...I feel horrible about it. I should have some free time this coming week (after daily Track practices and chores and all that) so I'll try - again, take note of TRY - to get this finished up by this coming Friday - though with my schedule, it might turn out to be something like the Friday after next, as I just remembered there are a TON of other things I need to get out of the way first!
I've said it so many times now, but I can't say it enough: thank you all for your support and patience and understanding when it comes to all the challenges of life! I SWEAR I'll finish this as soon as I can!
God Bless and Keep you,
All my Love,
BaltoLuver63

tis okies as the a saying goes "the more you wait the sweeter it tasts at the end" And so far this story has been every minutes worth of the wait. You are into drawing that is fine with me, as long as your going to finish this I do not mind.

Hello friends, it's me - no, I'm not dead...I just might be rathr sick for a very long time.
First off, I just want to assure you all that yes, I am okay...for the most part. As some of you know, I like to run Cross Country and Track in the fall and spring respectively and I've been complaining of pains since last summer. They went away for the most part during winter, but they've come back to bite me this past Track season.
Feeling enough was enough, I finally got it checked out and had a bone scan done to see if I had a stress fracture in my hip. They also drew a bit of my blood to test it for anything I might have - just because I was already there. Well, I got the test results of the bone scan back last month - it was negative (thank heavens)...but the blood work was another matter and I found out that I might have rheumatiod arthritis. Seeing as it's run on my mom's side of the family for a good while, I stand a higher probability having it - and my antibodies read at +22% when they should be in the negatives, so it seems almost certain.
As you can guess, this hasn't been great for my mood for the last month or so - as I've had to quite track (which sucks because I love to run). I've been getting by as best I can though, and my outlook remains positive. Even if I do have it, it's not like the disease is gonna stop me from writing (or doing art - which has made for a good outlet this past month =^.^=) Still, I'm struggling with coming to terms with it and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm more than a little scared of what they'll find when I finally get to a doctor who's willing to treat me on the 20th - but I've got my Father's Love on my side, so I'm in the best hands there are. Please, keep me in your prayers.
As in regards to the chapter...it's actually kind of funny in a way, but it certainly wasn't when it happened. Over Easter weekend, I had a lot of time to write and write I did - 9 pages worth of the next chapter (which will probably clock out at around 15 pages - and I've been forced tp push the wolves into a supporting role, sorry, but that's the best way to work it.) Anyway, I did all this work and had only about another hour of work until it was done - I could feel it...but my computer chose that moment to crash on me, and I lost all the most recently added data for some retarded reason or another. Meaning I must now do it all over again...ugh.
Still, it's not as bad as it seems - I remember exactly what I wrote for the most part and it's only a matter of finding the time to sit down and write it out. We seem to be in luck - if all goes well, I might get eough time during the week to write it out again and have it up and running by Friday or Saturday (if God wants me to.)
Speaking of God...I must admit that there's another reason I've been so lax in my Balto-related writings lately. I've begun writing Christian fiction - my first being a story about an anthropomorphic wolf named Ash, who is dying in prison for his beliefs. Looking at it, I can see God at work through me in the pages, and it's already starting to touch people - I'd go so far to say it's my most impressive piece of work yet; the dialogue is the best I've ever done. I've been focused on that more than Newfound Emotion for a while because I felt that's where He wanted me to be spending my free time and I'm not one to argue when He tells me what I need to use my talents on. However, the story's reached a sort of mellow point now, and I now feel God is telling me to go ahead and finish this - as I know I've kept you waiting for far FAR too long as it is.
Seriously guys, I can't say how sorry I am that I haven't been able to work the way I want to, but I'm doing my best to get back into the swing of things long enough to finish this wonderful piece. I would never abandon this story - it's come way to far for me to just drop it now and I know a few of you have been following this story's progress for over two whole years now. Please, all I ask for is a little more time. I know that's pretty presumptuous of me concidering how I've been, but it's all I need. You guys lift me up each and every day - just the fact that you keep checking in on this fic and even felt strongly enough to check and see if I was okay touched me deeply. I really do mean it when I say this fic could never have been written without all your love and support, and for that I cannot express how grateful I am to all of you.
May God forever Bless, Guide and Keep you all,
All my Love,
BaltoLuver63
P.S. For those who feel inclined to see what I've been so 'busy' working on, just go to my www address and click on 'The Martyr's Last Test.' I think you'll like what you see - at least I hope so. Thank you all so much again.

Hey, you're not dead!
Jeez, I'm sorry you had to quit track. It must be terrible having to give up doing something you loved so much. I don't know where I'd be without band...
As for the arthritis, there's not much I can personally do, but know that you're in my prayers, friend. As you say, "Go Jesus!"
Don't stress about the fic; that should be the least of your worries right now.
Just keep a positive attitude and keep writing!
