A story about sled dogs, since I'm so into them XD.

So close... Stella was so close to her destination.
Her paws slipping on the ice and snow.
Gun shots were heard.
Finally, she let out a pircing howl,
she raced the wind, and bounded off ito the distance.
I'm free
She thought.
I'm really free
She ran and ran until she skidded into a rock.
Her harnes tore off from the team.
She slid down an icy hill, landing on a frozen lake.
The ice busted, and she she drowned.
Drown to death.
She was gone.

I like what you have so far, but you repeated a word, 'The ice busted, and she she drowned.'
