Erebus shrugged his shoulders and said "I'm not sure but we will find out soon enough." He entered the gym.

OOC: I'll be the Geodude and you'll be the Onix?

OOC: Yeah. The Leader's name is Brock like in canon, BTW.

"Still, we should show respect for our elders, otherwise we'd be no different than those two jerks," Rex stated, looking around the gym. It was constructed largely of rock and the field beneath their feet was brown earth. "This place is big.

"Welcome to Pewter Gym," announced a deep rumbling voice. Several of the rocks moved, rising up to reveal the massive form of an Onyx.

Erebus smiled at the Onix and said "Hello. My name is Erebus and we are looking for the two leaders of this gym so we can challenge them. Are you by chance the leader named Brock?"

A Geodude floated up off of the floor next to the Onix and said "Good morning, Erebus. Yes. His name is Brock and my name is Forrest. We also accept your challenge."

Brock nodded. "We believe in rock hard defense, let's see if you have the power to break it!" he announced. "Forrest, you go first."

Rex looked to Erebus. "I just jump on the field, right?"

Brock looked at the situation. "Kid, you're a wild one, aren't you?"

Rex jumped. "Uh...yes sir."

"Don't worry little guy," Brock said. "I just take it this is your first Gym Battle, right?" Rex nodded. "Alright, then let our official fill you in."

The official stood on a platform nearby. "It's simple, all you need to do is jump onto the battlefield, no need to wait for anything but the acceptance of your challenge. Unless otherwise stated, one one Pokemon from each team can be on the field at the same time. Challengers can switch out at any time, the Gym Leader is not allowed. First team to know out both of the other team's members wins. Understood?"

Rex nodded slowly. "Yeah...I think."

Brock nodded. "Ok, Forrest, time to start."

Forrest floated out to the field and awaited his challenger.

Erebus looked at Rex and said "You got this, Rex. Good luck and have some fun."

Rex nodded, taking a battle stance.

"Begin!" announced the official.

Rex began instantly by jumping with an attempted tackle.

OOC: What species should the officials be anyway?

Forrest smiled and said while taking the Tackle "I'm a rock Pokemon. That won't help you at all." He attempted a Rock Smash on Rex and then used Magnitude.

Forrest dodged the Growl and used Focus Punch on Rex. He then used Rock Throw.
