o.k , so in the 2 movies and the series Charlie has three different fates..

in the first movie he ends up back in Heaven with Annabelle/Whippet Angel ( o.k I don't know if Bluth had a sequel in mind when the first movie came out but let's say Charlie stays in heaven permanantley.. remember the only reason he didn' t wan't to stay in heaven was that Carface killed him)


2nd movie Charlie and Sasha live with David and Itchy stays in heaven.. Carface goes to heck..

in the series.. Charlie and Itchy live together in apartment .. Sasha's still at the flea bite I guess living in her own place. Carface and Killer are brought back to spoil things for Charlie and Itchy..

I don't know which I like better .. the series premise sounds kinda good. since it's kinda a 2nd lilfe for them and nobody's stuck in heaven or heck, though the one thing that bugged was that Charlie and Carface were Anabelle's/Belladonna's lilttle helpers :p

Personally, I like the ending for ADGTH2.

Why? Because everyone gets what they deserve. Charlie wanted something better - he got a second (er, THIRD? if you want to mention the first film) chance at life, as well as the girl (in this case, Sasha). Itchy? Although he parted ways with Charlie (only temporarily . . . Charlie has to die again, you know. That badge is waiting in Heaven for him! XD), Itchy gets eternal freedom from those fleas that gave him his name . . . and some happiness. Carface . . . meh, he is Carface, so we all know what's his fate. He gave up his soul for the collar-thingy, so it's a bad ending for him . . . but it's what was coming for him, I suppose.

So, mostly everyone gets a happy ending. That's why I think it's the best ending.

I personally think the first movie had the best ending.

Cuz Charlie already cheated death a number of times, I really don't think it'd be okay, or probable, that he get a third chance at life. Yea, yea, true he died and all, but the movie wasn't about getting what you wanted. It wasn't spoon feeding its audience, but it did not by any means make it "unfair." They didn't see death as an ending. Didn't you see how happy Charlie was now that his conscience was clear and that he didn't end up in Hell?

I was only satisfied with Itchy and Sasha's ending in the second movie. Itchy was happy where he was, and he got to finally be with his best friend. But thanks to Charlie's contrived love interest, he was stuck alone a second time. It sucks, but he at least has his good health for the rest of eternity xD Sasha I admit deserved a good home with David. She did, after all, take care of him while he was alone on the streets. He probably would've died if not for her and her motherly instincts (or just good nature, but lets go with motherly instincts cuz it doesn't sound as lame).

As far as Carface was concerned, he pretty much had to go through all of what Charlie did. I guess its no question why Carface was in Heaven in the beginning of ADGTH2 (I mean, Charlie in the first movie did warn us after all.) but if he was the same Carface as he was in the first movie, oh definitely, he deserved to go to Hell. In the second movie? Ehh... he was a pushover. I suppose Purgatory for a few billion years would've been good enough for him xD

I won't even comment on the series, sorry.

I'll have to go with the first film hands down, while the second film does a good job of wrapping things up the first film's ending is very powerful. Heaven and Hell are both represented as Charlie says his final goodbye to Ann-Marie, truly sorry for what he's put her through and glad she's found parents. Not all the questions are answered but that only makes it better, we never know what kind of life Ann-Marie or Itchy will have without Charlie, but we can assume it will be peaceful. This ending was actually so great it kind of messes with the idea of a sequel being made, it leaves you with just enough to think about yet not enough to warrant any continuation.

I think that both films have a strong ending to them in different ways. The first one you can say, puts everything at peace but its sad that Charlie is by himself. Even if everything is right, something feels worng about it.

ADGTH 2 I like a little better because while Itchy is in heaven and Charlie on earth, There is this feeling of Itchy coming by to visit Charlie from time to time.

But I was always sad at both endings because THE MOIVES END, I wanted them to keeping going on because they where that good.

Personally I think the ending in the first movie is better than in the rest because it was so touching, it always makes me cry, I am not even an emotional guy. It always makes me think of that last goodbye that I have had to say to beloved pets, friends, and family members.

Don't get me wrong I do believe the second movie had a very good ending but nowhere near as powerful as the first movie.

Before I answer, question, are we considering Christmas Carol an ending? Or count that in with the series? If so, I like that one a bit, since Carface redeems himself. In my own beliefs, seeing someone's soul be saved from Hell is a pretty good ending. It's really the only ending everyone gets a happy ending in (well except Belladonna, but she's a demon and the main villain). Yeah, if Carface had never changed from the original film, the second ending is better as he deserved Hell. The second film...yeah, good ending, but I kind of like Carface getting redeemed as well because everyone comes out better for it.

well, I was mainly thinking of Charlie when doing the poll.. but if you wan't to throw in a "temporarily redeemed" Carface, then I guess that's o.k too. ..

personally, I like the last one best because mostly everyone's together in the series ( with the exception of Flo, the Puppies, the Gator King, and Ann-marie)..

i cant quite tell both movie endings were sad to me. but i think i liked the christmas carol one the best (even though i only scene it twice).

I'd say the christmas carol one. 'Cause Carface gives everyone presents and reunites with his mom.

yeah also at the end of the christmas one carface also changes from bad to good.

well okay i don't think of christmas carol as part of the series but a third movie, thus i have to say it is a good ending cept when sasha kisses carface(though i don't like how they make charlie dumber and dumber as the series goes on and carface smarter and smarter), but my fav is the ending of number 2 cause well yeah the only thing would do diff is switch annabelle and sasha's places, and the first one was a great ending but why did charlie have to die, over all i think the entire thing was good otehr then the minor points i put in (i also don't like the fact they took out flo and the pups and had itchy some how survive from 1939(time of first movie) to 1996(time of second movie))

I like the original ending best cause Itchy wanted to stay in heaven and Charles wanted to stay with Sasha, but he also wanted to stay with Itchy in heaven in the end Charles ended up picking Sasha and let Anabelle take Itchy to heaven. Nevertheless Charles, Itchy, and Sasha got what they all wanted more or less
