Recently, I bought a 6 month old puppy from my SPCA, and he is smart. But its been a looong time since I've had a pup. Now, Before I had the puppy, I had a smaller dog (who passed away a few months agao) a older SPCA dog, and a cat.
Yes the cat is the problem, my puppy won't leave her alone. Levi, the pup, is constantly charging at her, and running her over, biting her back, I've found cuts on her once.
I can usually stop him if I catch him before he starts, but not if he is into it. I've searched it on the internet but nothing seems to work, any ideas?
Incase anyone cares;
He is a Heeler cross

I don't know if this will help, but try getting them to bond a bit. My friend brings her cat around every weekend, and my dog used to attack him. What I did was I got the cat and the dog, and sat them both in my lap. I then started petting both of them gently and feeding them treats every few minutes. Whenever the two would try and attack eachother, I would tap them on the nose and stop petting them. They soon learned to stop attacking eachother, because it's more rewarding for them. Everytime I see them, and they're not bothering eachother, I give them a pat or a treat.
Treats and attention are two important things when training a dog to do or not to do something, because the puppy finds them rewarding and will continue to do as you ask. But another method you can use (which probably is the least effective in training your puppy not to attack the cat) is you can take him for walks just up and down the street and making sure he sees the cats any of your neighbours have. Once he starts tugging at the leash or barking at the cat, gently tug on the leash and say "come on" until he loses interest in the cat. The reason this is probably the least effective, is because he's learning to ignore the neighbourhood cats but not your cat.
I'm not a dog or cat expert, but these are the methods I have tried when training my dog to stop attacking cats and they have worked for me. Hope this helps.

The puppy is still young, and is probably just play fighting with your cat. Unless there any signs of aggression, I don't know how to stop that. The best thing you can do is tell him no.

I kinda have the same problem with my do. Try making a loud noise by clapping your hand sor something to get the dogs attention when he bothers the cat. Well he looks away call him over and give him a treat. This works for my dog.
