It's been a while since I've posted on here, but I just learned of the passing of one of the voice cast from WQ.

Joe Alaskey, the voice of the Hunter and the wolf Nuk, passed away on February 3 at 63 years old, and I had no idea that outside of this movie, he had voiced some iconic characters from my (and probably your) childhood.

He was the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and numerous other characters from recent Looney Tunes shows (at least in the 1990s until 2010s), as well as Grandpa Pickles from the Rugrats series and movies, and Droopy from Tom and Jerry DTV movies. He also did voices in the Timon and Pumbaa tv series, as well as The Little Mermaid series. There's more roles mentioned on his IMDB page here, in case you wanted to check it out.

I just figured that as Balto fans, we should take a moment to remember him and the many characters that he gave a voice to. Thank you, Mr. Alaskey, for bringing these characters to life with your voice. You will be missed but we will remember.

I had no idea he did such many voices beside the ones in Wolf Quest. o-o I mean I could never have linked Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck to Nuk the wolf... whaddya know. Well either way, he will be missed and never forgotten. Bugs and Daffy are definately a big part of growing up for me too.

He was also a genius at doing impressions of other characters, including those made famous by other actors (Jack Nicholson, William Shatner, Art Carney and Jackie Gleason for example). The impression he used to do of the Honeymooners was utterly hilarious.

His passing is a great loss. R.I.P.

Such a shame! I watched a lot of the old Bugs Bunny cartoons when I was little, along with the Rugrats. I did watch the Looney Toons every now and again as well.

R.I.P

Well, Alaskey was not yet born when the original Looney Tunes cartoons were produced and released theatrically (which they were, as animated shorts attached to a newsreel and main movie, and other things for an all-day experience back in the 30s, 40s and 50s). He was born in 1952 and, according to his imdb page (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0016085/), and his first voice acting job was as "additional voices" in an old animated television series. He did expertly manage to mimic Mel Blanc's legendary style (the original voice actor for most of the Looney Tunes characters), and went on to great voice acting and stand-up impressionist work. But he wasn't the original Looney Tunes' voice actor.

Just FYI.

Oh. I was a bit confused by what she meant in her post. In that case, I never really watched the newer versions, just the older ones.
