It annoys me more and more lately that people are doing random "roleplays" in regular shoutboxes. I'm sure everyone saw those "Hi *pokes and noms your ear*" things. I don't mind them having fun, but they annoy people with this (often) really idiotic stuff directed towards people who do not want to "play". Especially that most of them don't care about the conversation at all. For example:
Person A: "Hi *pokes* what's up?"
Berson B: "I've been elected as a persident and my mom just died"
Person A: Cool *points gun at you*

Seriously, it makes them look like complete morons to me...

I feel your pain. I hate coming into the shoutbox half the time and being lost because I have ZERO clue as to what's going on. And even if I do I just want to have a regular conversation instead of having to virtually defend myself with some mega-weapon. Time and place for everything.

We know there are a few individuals who do this ALL. THE. TIME. And nobody really stops them (nobody who is on staff, that is). One individual in particular. And when that person is confronted on it, that person usually just ducks out without saying anything in response, OR simply ignores the frustrated person (or people) who would prefer it if that person would just FREAKING STOOOOOP. (Note how I am avoiding gender-specific markers? Golly, to do anything more specific is a bannable offense, isn't it?) This person ought to be instructed, firmly, by a staff member, that enough is enough, and the regular shoutboxes are no place for cutsey-wootsey, touchy-feely, "let's go have a tussle in the BS shoutbox" give-and-take.


...aaaaaaand the rest of us keep waiting. And waiting...
