As a general rule :

The fanfics which rely on violence, contain gore parts or descriptive sexual parts are not allowed on the site.

Any fanfic that is acceptable for this rule, but would still not be considered acceptable for a story for the official film/series, should be rated PG.


What is acceptable?

- Fights with no or little blood.
- Characters kissing
- Characters making love, but without ANY detail.
- Insults, when they are used for a good reason.
- Religious matters, if they don't relate to a specific / known religion.
- Off-topics fanfics (ex : Road Rover, GDW, ADGTH fanfics...) can only be accepted if you add a site-related fanfic in your gallery. (eg : Balto fanfic if you're on Balto Source) A site-related fanfic is defined by having several official characters involved in a story. Also, the number of non-official characters must not be greater than the official ones. (the same rule applies for every site on Animation Source)


What is NOT acceptable?

- Stories that have no relation with the site topic. (eg : On Balto Source, stories centered around characters that are not dogs or wolves or specific Balto characters, will not be accepted.)
- Stories which contain only violence.
- Gory stuff (dissections with blood, body parts cut with blood, ...)
- Descriptive / indecent scenes of characters having sex.
- Fanfics ONLY based on disturbing matters : drug, sects, suicides,...
- Political matters.
- Characters swearing at others for no reason / profanity to a high level.
- Any text directly copied from something wrote by someone else, for which you didn't ask permission to use.
- Detailed descriptions of sexual acts are not allowed. Fanfics dealing with controversial moral matters are allowed only with the highest age-rating (PG) and with warnings in the fanfic description. It is strongly recommended to contact a fanfic mod if you're unsure about possible unacceptable parts of your story.

(this list is NOT exhaustive and is left to the appreciation of the mods)

The fanfics which are not acceptable will not be deleted, but deactivated. The mods will send a PM to the authors, telling them that they are invited to tone down parts of their fanfics to make them acceptable.

When a fanfic gets reported by the visitors, and it's unclear if it should be accepted or not, it is up to the lead moderator of the fanfic section to take the decision. (or any other fanfic mod if he can't answer, for any reason)

When a fanfic gets reported by the visitors, and it's unclear if it should be accepted or not (because the fanfic is on the edge of what the rules accept), it is up to the lead moderator of the fanfic section to take the decision. (or any other fanfic mod if he can't answer, for any reason)

The visitors have to use the report button at the bottom of the fanfics, BEFORE complaining to the author, to me, to any mod or anyone.

I have also changed a rules : in the "allowed" part,

"characters making love, without details"

has been replaced with

"characters making love, without ANY detail"

which seems more appropriate.

I have made a few changes to make the rules "Animation Source compliant"...
