Generally vocalist can sing in higher octaves than their talking voice. in this case they used a stand in for Mathew Broderick (Joseph Willliams ) Still a Adult Male singer.... i have a pretty deep voice but i have both baritone and Tenor ranges on a musical scale.

The first time I heard him sing, I thought he sounded like an unusually high-pitched guy, but certainly not a girl.
