Plot:
When two young girls are caught four miles from home, a cop stops them and returns them back home with a fine for their parents. After facing her adopted parents, one little girl is struck across the face by her father and sent to her room. Her parents don't know that in there, she often visits with her friend, devising a plan to escape. The young girl needs to escape from a family that want her gone any way, and her next door neighbor best friend wants to help and run away to a new home with her. After they the failed run away attempt, they are so close, but yet so far. They make a website that only the members know the password for and use fake names in case the system were to ever get hacked. This means war.

History: Rebecca was abandonded in a house in Michigan with only her dog. They were all alone with little money and only each other to depend on. After suffering through startvation, she was brought to a shelter. Not wanting to leave her canine friend, she tried to sneak out of the window, but was stopped. She found out a month later that the pound and captured her beloved four-legged friend and put her to sleep. After a year of hundreds of visitors, she finally was adopted by a family with a son, a daughter, and a dog! She is given new clothes and shoes and text books and home-schooling and has everything a kid could want. But after two years of living with this family, she finds herself being ignored by her father. Unaware of her presence, her farther discusses a few ways to get rid of her. Confused, she starts to sneak out of the house to visit her new friend next do, and tells her about the problem she is having. When her best friend's bratty sister rats them out, they meet in the woods and Rebecca sees her friend with a swollen eye and busted lip, both barely covered with make-up. From then on, they plan to run away to a new home.

History: Kieth was born in Utah but moved into Michigan at the age of 3 years old. He had a good childhood, except for the accident, which killed his little sister a few years after moving there. His parents burried his sister in their backyard, deep in the forest, which was her favorite spot. Kieth was very quiet for a few months but then started to perk up more and more after he made new friends. When Kieth was 6 he started learning about computers and technical stuff like that. He went to school like a normal kid and did everything a kid is supposed to do. When his 10th birthday came around, Kieth was given a german cake (I love those), traditionally. A few years had passed and he met Rebecca while sneaking outside just before dinner. He started to take an interest in the young girl, who told many stories. Kieth found himself meeting with her more often, but when his older sister ratted them out he got in big trouble. He was beaten and sent to bed without dinner for that night, peering out of his window in the attic, into the pitch black night. After recieving the signal, he snuck over, obtaining the password and website address. Now he promtly scans the website every night, talking to the other 'runaways.'

History: Mattie lived a normal, happy life for the first 11 years of her existence. On her 11th birthday, however, her mama died coming home from getting her birthday presents. After her Mama's death, her Papa began to drink. He became an alcoholic to deal with the pain of losing his wife. As a result of the alcohol, he began to beat Mattie. Scared for her life, Mattie tried to run away, only to be caught by to be caught by their neighbor, Dan, who was her fathers best friend, and also an alcoholic who occasionally contributed to her beatings. Desperate to get away, Mattie tried again when her Papa and Dan decided to go out to get more booze. It was then that she ran into a boy sneaking to obtain a password to a website for runaways. She joins him and goes on the website as often as possible.

History: After his dad passed away his mother started drinking and smoking. She took her anger out on Wesley. Wesley is very afraid of his mother now, she still will hit him from time to time but since she has been dating her new boyfriend, Mark, he has been verbally and occasionally physically abusing Wesely. Wesely will hide away in his tree house, he practically made it his home. He ran extension cords and put lights, an old microwave he found, and hooked up the old computer his father gave him.

Rebecca:
Rebecca awoke to a screaming alarm clock just a few inches from her head. Gently moving her finger across the snooze button, she flipped the switch and the screaming stopped. She sat up, quickly running up to the attic, trying not to make noise. Opening the fainted white door she walked in and plopped down on the old torn sofa, grabbing her favorite book out of the shelf. She sat quietly in the attic, flipping through pages in her book, studying each word carefully. A few minutes later she heard both her parents and her other 'siblings' leave to go to the beach. she tossed the book to the side and snuck over to the computer resting on the desk, across the squeaky boards she tip toed. Brushing the dust from the computer's black screen she logged onto the website, quickly accessing her account. Looking over her shoulder constantly she wrote, Is anyone on? The coast is clear, parents are gone. The meeting will be held in the tree house. Be there at, She paused, looking at her wrist watch. 8:15. She had about 20 minutes to get ready.

Running back down the steps into the bathroom; she got a 15 minute shower, getting dressed quickly, blow drying her dripping hair. As she raced back through, into the kitchen she grabbed a toaster pastery, holding it in her mouth while she slipped on her sneakers. She had a black tanktop on, dark blue skinny jeans, pink and grey/white sneakers, and her hair flopped over her shoulders. She snuck out of the back door and climbed up the hidden ladders and into the air conditioned tree house. Finishing up the last bite of her toaster pasetry. There she waited for the others to arrive. Especially Kieth since he was the one who usually did a few things for her if he could.


Kieth:
He woke up about 3 minutes after the email was sent to him. He got ready before checking the website on his personal computer. He read it and replied back, knowing there was a computer in the tree house that was on. He wrote, I'll be there in a few minutes. before pressing send and closing his laptop and flopping it onto his bed. He pulled on his shoes and he too, snuck out the back door, this time he was holding a satchel. When he made it into the tree house he pulled a rolled up paper out of his satchel and laid it out on the floor. I got the map to New York. I bought a couple bus tickets, and I got, He paused as he reached into his front pocket. The knife, a couple of my mom's old gold jewelry, my mom's spare car keys, and a couple bucks I still have. He glanced up at Rebecca and sat back. We should talk about the rest when the others get here. Rebecca agreed with him and they started to olay board games like normal kids would.

Wesley woke up to his computer beeping. He went over and looked at it and saw a new email. "A meeting? I'm late!" he threw on a clean pair of jeans and a t-shirt. While putting his shoes on he was trying to pack his bag for the day. He grabbed a handful of goldfish cracker and chewed them. "C'mon Raz." He jumped down from his tree house with his backpack on his back and Raz in his arms. "Wait here Raz I have to brush my teeth." He ran in and brushed his teeth and he was off to the meeting. Him and Raz ran down the street to the next block, he ended up in a backyard staring down another tree house. He kneeled down and open his backpack and Raz jumped in and prepared for the ride up. He climed up to the tree house. "Hey guys sorry I'm late. Board games, eh?" He let Raz out and Raz got on Wesley's lap. "So what are we meeting for today?"

Rebecca:
Okay, did you bring what I told you too? She could be a very demanding person but when she was in a rush it didn't matter. She explained everything her and Kieth were talking about, showing him everything Kieth brought. Did you get the survival gear? She pushed the board game gently out of the way. Sweeping her fingers across the wooden floor boards. Locking the door and closing the blinds. She flicked on the light. Well did ya? Kieth glancing from Rebecca to Wesely. Rebecca looked anxious like their lives depended on it. What everyone else may not have noticed is that she had put makeup on that wasn't the same color as her skin, trying to cover up the red hand mark that settled in her face and the bruises on her arms from her father grabbing her to hard.

"Do you doubt me? Of course I have all of the stuff. I even went in and cashed all of those cans I've been collecting behind my tree house. I have $105! That should last us a while if we use it sparingly." Wesley was very proud of himself. He grabbed his backpack and gave it to Rebecca. "All of the stuff you told me to get is in there."

Rebecca:
She smiled, leaning forawrd and kisses him gently on his cheek. Your the best Wesley! Rebecca said excitedly, moving around things in the bag. She smiled as she found everything they needed, putting it into a bigger and lighter back with wheels on it. She smiled and looked at both of them. Has anyone seen Mattie? She is usually always at the meetings, on time. She looked at Kieth when he shrugged and then looked over at Wesely. Rebecca sighed and leaned back. We can't keep going without her. We need her here. Now. All the sudden a sound of crackling wood filled the tree house, Rebecca jumped up and grabbed the fire extinguisher, the microwave blew a circut. She pulled the pin and the CO2 was jetting out.

Kieth helped her but she had already got the fire out. Kieth and Rebecca plopped back down on the shaggy rug that was masking the hard floor. Rebecca smiled at Wesley and then looked out the window. Still no Mattie. Rebecca grumbled and got a bottled water. Tossing Kieth and Wesely one as well. So now what do we do? Where do we go first? I know we are leaving at midnight, and I want everyone in the forest beside the old oak tree. Or else it's every man/woman for his/her self. Got it? Kieth nodded and smiled.

Wesley blushed when Rebecca kissed his cheek. He caught the water bottle and opened it then chugged half of it down. He stopped for a breath and said"Thanks, this is good." He couldn't remember the last time he had a good drink. He felt a paw on his chest and looked down at Raz. "Sorry, Raz. I forgot you haven't had a drink in a while either." Wesely cupped his hand in front of Raz and slowly poured the water in it so Raz could drink. Raz finished the rest of the bottle. "So, midnight? That sounds pretty good to me! I just want to get the heck away from this place....."

Rebecca:
Yup. Midnight, beside the oak tree. Stay out of sight. She gave them both a death glare as if to say, 'if you mess this up, you can kiss our freedom goodbye.' Kieth inched away from her and she smiled softly again. Okay, Kieth get what you need tonight and set it under that tree okay? Wesley you do that same and make sure you keep the dog quiet. The last thing we want is the only dog on this block to start barking. She stood up and was about to dismiss this meeting when she heard a car door slam shut. She moved the blinds and peeked out, turning around in pure horror. It's my parents. She turned and peeked once more to see a stocky officer with them. And a police man! She hurried and shoved everything into the bag, pushing it into the secret compartment, closing the hatch gently.

Rebecca covered it with the edge of the carpet and pulled out 'Checkers' and acted normal. Kieth knew this drill and took to it like a fish to water. Kieth moved one piece before opening the blinds and unlocking the hatch that led into the tree house. To make it seem like they weren't doing anything. Rebecca smiled and moved another piece. She heard her name being bellowed from her father. I'll be back, stay here. She said before slipping down the tree and to the officer with a cheery smile that was forced upon her face. Yes d-daddy? She struggled with that word, calling him dad was the second worse thing in her life.
