Lots of people want Stella out because of lets just say her "properties" further info can be found on "Not Good For Kids"

I still think Aleus a good idea.

I've said this so many times, in topics all over this forum related to Stella, that it's ridiculous. I wonder why people don't seem to understand this. I really don't.

A better stella for stella's role

Aniu would, indeed, be an interesting and quite possibly "fun" addition but I'm not really 100% on this.... but, yeah, i think Aniu would be good but the plot would really have to be changed up a bit!

So you want Steele to have some sort of disturbing relationship with Boris, huh?

I think it would be interesting if Stella was replaced with Rosy. It would be cool to see how she interacted with Kodi, and maybe she could have helped Balto convince him to go after Duke. Besides that, she was one of the most important characters in the first movie, and all she gets in WOC is a three-second cameo.

^You know what? That would have been the PERFECT replacement! Yeah, I 100% agree with this.

Now that I think about it, there could be a plot device where Duke is somehow related to Rosy, so then it'd be more dramatic that Kodi doesn't want to rescue him.
That would have made WOC a LOT better, imho.

I agree that maybe Stella being out of the WoC movie would have been EPIC. Also I agree that she could have easily been replaced by numerous characters from the other two movies that would have made the third movie one of the best by changing the story for the best.

Here are some characters I had in mind:

Rosy - Probably one of the better characters to fill in the void. Yes, the whole reason why Balto is a hero really revolved around her, and all she gets in the sequels is a couple of mentions and 3-5 seconds in the opening montage animation. It's terrible. It's been 3 years, so she should have at least had some development with her character. Maybe she was hiding out in the plane instead of Boris? Maybe she got lost with Jenna or Balto while looking for the plane herself? The possibilities are so... out there. I would have loved to see her more than being sick, cheering on and praising racing dogs and being the first movie's narrator, you know.

Or maybe she's a musher-in-training? Please don't tell me I'm the only one that sees this working so badly...


Steele - Oh my goodness. I disliked him in the original movie, but the idea of having him and Balto traveling to save Duke's life would have been... both AWESOME and as a moment of definite chance for change between the two rival dogs. Would Steele have helped to save Balto in the rapids or against the moose?

Why did you run away from such a character-developing opportunity as having the plane still crash and having Balto and Steele travel together to save his life? This is literally movie GOLD that would have actually had so many Balto fans drooling and shouting with sheer glee if it was pulled off well.

Perhaps not going with this route and keeping Stella in was the REAL reason there will never be a fourth Balto movie.

I can also totally see him having his original voice actor [Jim Cummings, you awesome guy] reprising his voice, so that would have been a HUGE plus if this worked out and was the actual "Wings of Change" in this movie - he would have been the only voice to return from the original film, and that would have been so WIN.


Kodiak/Kodi - Darn it, he's on the friggin' cover for the movie, and yet he didn't even get that much screen time at all! The only good development we saw in his character was during Jenna's song and at the sorta-predictable climatic end. We saw how he and Balto bonded and that was the spark to make Kodi want to work long to be a lead dog just like his father, and we definitely saw him learn that sometimes going with the group isn't always the best choice to make [especially when a life is on the line].

But that's not enough. Unlike Stella, Kodi was at least an interesting character. He wasn't annoying [like many people say Aleu was, which for some reason, I sorta agree with. Heck, we don't hear from Kodi until he's at least 3 years old - lots of time for some decent maturity!], he had a good reason to act the way he does when around the other sled dogs [for the sake of their jobs, and because being a part of the mail team is like being in a clique in high school], and at least we didn't have to hear him sing. Come on - who wouldn't have liked to see an adventure with Father and Son searching to save a pilot, even if they might lose their jobs in the process?

...I can't really think of any other characters. Heck, let's just say that even Aleu replacing Stella would have made WoC better than it ended up.

That's why WOC needs a director's cut. It would have been WAY better if Phil had had his way.

Oh yes definately replaec Stella maybe with Aniu or maybe Steele comingto rescue balto instead of Kodi?That would be more interesting to see Steele have a change of heart after being banished from first movie^
