Ah, hello, AnimationSource. Long time no see.

I am no longer very active here, but I do stop by occasionally to post some art if by chance it happens to correlate with one of the sources, lately ponies. Or at least, I attempt to...

I see that there's been a new rule established: that every single character in a fanart must be "tagged".

I can understand why this would be a good idea for images that deal with only OCs and do not include canon characters to make sure that the images relate to the series. However, what about images that DO have canon characters, even focuses on the canon characters, but happen to have an OC included?

Do I seriously have to go through the trouble of creating a character page and getting said page approved on a website I rarely visit solely to post a stupid fanart WITH CANON CHARACTERS? Where all canon characters are tagged? What the CRAP is the point in that? The image is clearly fanart of this particular series because of the canon characters. It's not like anyone's gonna need to "look up" or archive the OC because there only exists the one picture of her. Is not having a character page for an OC on a site I rarely use really a good reason to deactivate a perfectly valid fanart that also includes canon characters?

As annoyed as I am by this, I would like to politely and respectfully ask the mods to please consider making exceptions to the "all characters tagged" rule for OCs in pictures where canon characters are clearly included and tagged. Thank you.

Frist off, mods don't make the rules.

Steet was asked about similar thing about character tags lately, but he agreed for an exception only for fancubs/fanpups designs, but I doubt, even if asked again for this specific thing, that he would allow such exception for characters you just don't want to make page of.

I know they don't make the rules, but they are the ones who enforce them.

The OC in the image in question was indeed a fankid. How recent was Steet's decision?
