"Ahh, hello. I see you have made it to the pack of the Unknown. Well, I can assure you it is very much known to every dog and wolf in this area. I'm Hiro, you're alpha. Loners are always welcome into my pack depending on their attitude. The bigger the pack, the better. Together we can survive the mild and deadly storms brewing before use. I look forward to seeing you here with us."

It's good for you that the alpha male is the first you will see on you're journey to find companionship. When you find this pack, you will find friends, and might even find enemies. Currently Hiro isn't looking for a mate and doesn't wish to have one, but will the tables turn? Will he fall for an omega? Or a loner? Or possibly you? We shall see, and on the way, you might even find a mate yourself. But more importantly, will you and you pack mates survive the tornadoes and storms ahead?

5) I'm the only one allowed to change the weather/temperature, time of day, the day/month/year, etc. If "Sunny" and "Warm with light showers" is highlighted, don't say "it started to snow".
You can ask me to change the weather after a while, but I might already be on it; I don't want it to say all "sunshine and rainbows" through the entire RP xD

6) There is no character limit, but don't make a bazillion dogs if you won't be able to keep track of them
You have permission to kill off your own characters, just do not make them commit suicide. Your character can die during a fight/from a fatal wound, get very ill and eventually die after a while, or from heat stroke. Events like these are acceptable. Also, please don't kill off your character every single page.
Your characters may have a relationship with each other.

7) You may do things to induce drama and make things interesting in the roleplay. Just make sure to ask if it's okay first; ask in your post or PM me.

ALPHAS

The head of the pack. They are usually mates and dominate over the entire pack and make the pack rules. Their word is law; lower-ranking pack members have to follow their Alphas' orders whether they agree or not. The Alphas usually dish out the consequences to those who disobey them, that is, if their Betas do not get to the insubordinate ones first. Both the Alpha Male and Female are considered the "lead fighters" of a pack.

BETAS

Are the wolves in charge when the Alphas aren't around; the second-in-commands. They make sure the other members underneath the Alphas' (including their Beta partner) are following orders. The Betas dish out warnings to disobeying members if the Alphas don't get to them first. Insubordination of a Beta will cause them their job eventually. Betas are the ones who become Alpha after the current leaders die. There is only one Beta Male and one Beta Female per pack, and they may or may not be mates.

LEAD HUNTER/HUNTRESS

They are the best hunters in the pack and lead the other hunters to find a food source.

HUNTERS
Supply the main income of food. They are usually chosen for their particularly high skills of catching prey.

FIGHTERS

Males and females who fight to defend the pack at their Alphas' orders. They usually train for battle by staging skirmishes amongst themselves.

GUARDS

Position themselves around the pack's boundaries. They are the first resistance against any intruders entering their territory.

SCOUTS

Also called "patrollers"; they patrol the boundaries along with the guards, keeping a look out for potential food sources or enemy wolves. They are the ones who contact the Alphas and fighters while the guards are fighting off intruders.

CARETAKERS/HEALERS

Tend to the wounded and sick. They also take care of expecting mothers and are pup-sitters to young puppies who are between the ages of eight months and a year old.

MOTHERS

Female wolves who are pregnant or are expecting puppies. "Mothers" is also the term used for female wolves who nurse abandoned puppies.

PUPS

Young wolves under the age of eight months; they have no actual rank in the pack and will be assigned a ran by the Alphas once they are older.

ELDERS

Senior wolves who can't contribute much to the pack anymore.

OMEGAS

The lowest ranking wolf in the pack. The are least important and are usually picked on by the higher-ranking wolves. Omegas are not allowed to mate, have pups, or move up in rank (unless the Alpha has a very good reason to bump them up); they sometimes leave the pack on their own and try to join another or become loners.

LONERS

Wolves who never joined a pack to begin with, were exiled from their previous pack or were Omegas who left. Loners can only join a pack if the Alphas permits them.

Pack Rules


1) The Alphas' words are law.
If pack members fail to follow orders, they will eventually be given a handful of warnings. Depending on the Alpha/Beta's attitudes, a "handful of warnings" may range from harsh scoldings to a few disciplining attacks to an automatic exile.

2) If there is only one Alpha running the pack s/he has the right to choose a mate when they feel the time is ready

3) Do not disrespect you superiors. You will be punished.

4) Confront anyone who crosses your pack's territory.

5) Loners can only become part of the pack only if the Alphas approve.

6) The dogs of the highest ranks eat first; Alphas, then Betas and so on. However, the elderly and pups feed before all hunters. Omegas will always eat last or not at all.

7) No killing your pack mates; your pack is your family and you are here for their protection.

8) Romance with Loners is forbidden (but also a goof way to stir up drama within the RP)

9) Only the Alphas and Betas may have pups. Any other ranking dog must ask first before mating; food is scarce and feeding more mouths than there is food will result in disaster for the pack.

{ personality:}
Hiro is a logical leader and he makes decisions based on what's best for the pack. His rules may seem strict and inhumane, but he does it in order to protect the ones he cares for. He struggles as a leader during this plagued time; He's used to the occasional challenge for rank and fighting for food amongst the subordinates, but with the plague going around, he must keep the wolves unmarked and safe from harm. He's a talented hunter and does well in emergencies, but he doesn't like having to make the tough decisions and never intended to become the Alpha of a pack.

{ history:}
Hiro was the Beta of the first Autumn Pack and an adviser to the Alpha. When the plague hit, He and his pack traveled for months trying to escape it, but with no such luck. Many of the wolves had fallen ill or gotten hurt during hunts, and were showing signs of being infected. The alpha pulled Hiro aside and told him that there was a danger nearby and to take his son, Red, and travel ahead of the pack to somewhere safe. The young beta did as asked and after travelling a couple days, he hid the pup in a safe place and went back to find his pack tearing each other to shreds. He went back to Red and they kept travelling. In there travels they gained followers who showed no signs of illness. And that's how Autumn's second generation pack came to be.

{ personality:}
Red is a wolf thirsting for knowledge about the world around her. She seeks to understand both sides of how infected (or possibly infected) wolves should be dealt with, and to deal with it in the most appropriate way possible, a way that everyone understands. She understands she is next in line to lead, and takes this role very seriously. He is already doing well with his diplomacy and hunting, and works hard to learn how healing and fighting would work. Despite Hiro's demands for nobody to practice healing or fighting with the exception of the single pack healer.

{ history:}
Red was born to the alpha of the original Autumn Pack, but was put into Hiro's care when the plague hit. Hiro and Red traveled for days ahead of their pack, narrowly escaping their doom. Hiro went back to check on their pack and when he returned, he brought back news that the pack had died, which included Red's father. Red spent many days grieving for her father as they continued to travel but eventually he started hiding his sadness as newcomers began falling in line with the duo. Since then, Red has been trying to gain all the wisdom her father had and become the next great leader of the Autumn Pack. She has not yet become to next alpha, but will not likely now because Hiro has taken over.



{ Raven }
Lead scout of the Unknown Pack

{ the basics:}
This young female is Raven, the proud Lead Scout of the Autumn Pack. How did a two and a half year old earn this rank? Well, it has to do with just a little over a year of perfecting the skill of information gathering and keeping a careful eye out for everything. When she first stumbled across this group of wolves, Raven didn't know where she would be placed among them, and she could only hope it wouldn't be a hunter or a fighter position. So, a small plan formed in her head - she would show Alpha Hiro that her skills lay elsewhere. Before she could be sorted into a rank, she spoke with him and said that she could easily prove her claims, and pushed that he let her try out the rank of Lead Scout. She would try it for a little while and if he deemed her unworthy of the rank he would switch her. Now about six months in to being with the pack, Raven feels as if she has proved herself to be worth the Lead Scout rank.

{ personality:}

Valuing stability and security very highly, Raven is eager to preserve the status quo, which makes her an extremely loyal and trustworthy friend and pack mate. She has a strong sense of responsibility and strives to meet her obligations, though this may sometimes be more from a sense of social expectations than intrinsic drive. She is a true pillar of any group she belongs to - whether it is her future family or her rank as the lead scout, she can always be relied upon. Helping to ensure that stability, Raven seeks harmony and cares deeply about others' feelings, being careful not to offend or hurt anybody. She is a strong team player, and win-win situations are the stuff smiles are made of. Raven places a lot of importance on what is socially acceptable, and can be very cautious, even critical of anything unconventional or outside the mainstream. She may also sometimes push their own beliefs too hard in an effort to establish them as mainstream. It can be especially challenging to change these tendencies because Raven is so conflict-averse. She can become very defensive and hurt if someone, especially a wolf close to her, criticizes her habits, beliefs or traditions. Just as she can be critical of others' "unusual" behavior, she may also be unwilling to step out of her own comfort zones, usually for fear of being (or just appearing) different.

{ history:}

It was just about two and a half years ago that Raven and her sister Luna were born in a small cave. Her mother and father weren't the most loving of parents, and were very skeptical that their pups would even last until the winter for they were both very small. But the two proved their parents wrong, for when winter came along they were strong and healthy as ever, and had even learned the very bare basics of how to hunt. Through the winter the two sisters were sent out to chase down rabbits and scout around for other wolves, prey, and dens. Chasing rabbits was pretty easy for Luna, for she was blessed with the skill of being a fabulous hunter, yet she was not the best at watching her surroundings - that was Raven's specialty. So, the two decided that Luna would do the hunting while Raven would go on ahead, find the rabbits and report back to Luna, then keep watch of the surrounding area. It worked well at first, until Luna began to grow anger at her sister. Here she was, doing all the work while her sister wandered about to search for nonexistent threats. This began to form a rift between the two and fights started to break out.
....But, by the spring, they had gotten close again and a lot better at bringing back enough food, for there was more prey out. This pleased their father immensely for he felt self-pride in having two offspring whom did not fail to survive the harsh first year as loners. Their mother, on the other hand, was not as pleased. How was the family supposed to live off of just rabbits? Deciding it was time to move on, their mother talked their father into leaving the sisters on their own because, after all, they had each other. Wanting to be with his mate, he agreed and made a plan to send the two far off so they could leave. Dawn of the next day he made up a plant that Luna and Raven had to go and find. "It's quite far away," he said "so be sure to eat and watch out for any danger." Heeding his warning, they left in high spirits. Luna peeled off from her sister, claiming that she scented something that was similar to what their father had described the plant would be like. Trusting her, Raven called out that she would just be a little ways up searching, too.
....That was when she saw him - a brute. A large, scary looking brute rushing in the direction her sister was, and in just a couple of minutes he would be upon them. Speedily going back to Luna, Raven warned her of the approaching wolf - scared that he would appear any moment. Her sister simply rolled her eyes and stated that they didn't need to worry, he would surely just leave them be. Still, Raven hurried her sister along, managing to just escape the brute's line of sight as he passed by. What he was doing or where he was going was not of interest to Raven, but Luna was curious about him. She was curious about every animal they passed by that day - the rabbits, the elk, the deer, the mice, the birds and would always ask her sister what she thought. "It doesn't matter," Raven would sigh, "We're on a mission!" Luna never paid much mind to her sister's bitter answer and went on. By the time mid-day came around they had still not found the plant and decided to turn around and head home for the day. Prepared for a disappointed gaze, the two entered with lowered heads. But, instead of their parents, they only found emptiness and stale scents. Maybe their parents had just gone out for a little while... They would be back soon, wouldn't they? But after three days passed with no sign of contact, Luna and Raven began to panic. What were they to do? Luna said that they should move on, try to find other wolves - maybe a pack! - so they could get help and support so they could survive. Raven agreed and the two set off on their journey.
....Sometimes, when you travel with someone for a long time and they're the only interaction you have, you may start to get a little sick of them. Or, the two of you grow closer and share a special bond. Well, after a year of traveling for the two sisters, the first situation became true. Every little thing about each other was just ugh and they were not able to work together anymore. Then, one day, Luna blew up on Raven - snarling and claiming that her sister was lazy because she didn't d any of the hunting. Raven fought back, retorting that Luna was ignorant about anything around her. Luna, in her anger, spat that they should just go their separate ways and Raven seconded her opinion. Finally, they had agreed on something. So, Luna went one way and Raven the other, both never wanting to see each other again. Raven lucked out by stumbling across Hiro and his pack just a couple of days afterwards, and chose to join the ranks seeing as she was clean of any infection.
