it's worth to remember!

It's been a long time since I've set up these meetings, most people don't follow it anymore which is a shame.
I'd like to be there, but I won't be able to come next sunday because I'll be on vacation with no internet access...
NB : We use regular GMT time, not London time.

GMT (also known as UTC or Zulu) is the standard indication for time at the zero meridian (better known as the Greenwich meridian). While this is commonly associated with UK or London time, the two are not always concurrent.

Since GMT is a global time indication, it is not affected by summer clock time (local time). This is why in summer, the UK disambiguates GMT from its actual local time by using the indication BST (British Summer Time).

So in summer, BST is London time, which is GMT +1. When the summer period has ended and BST is shelved for another year, London local time and GMT are once again synchronised. Yes, this confuses many people, and you may thank the 1970's oil industry for the farce that is summer savings time and winter savings time.

It should be mentioned that quite often this isn't well known by people who organise events, however, and proudly advertise for something in GMT during the summer and then wonder why so many people turn up an hour late.
