The 1st Annual Animation Source Choice Awards

This is the official topic for the 1st Annual Animation Source Choice Awards, an awards show hosted by AS honoring the best in animation from 2011.

The Animation Source Choice Awards was first thought up by me during the summer of 2011, when I was thinking of ways to make up new awards shows that Animation Source members could vote for, but didn't include them as nominees. I thought of an awards show similar to the Academy Awards, and that's where the idea came from.

The Animation Source Choice Awards honor the best in animation from the previous year. The very first awards show will be hosted on March 15, 2012, to honor the best in animation from 2011. Updates will be posted on different sections of Animation Source, so I decided to also include a forum topic on the subject.

I want input on this: how does everyone feel about a "live" show to announce the nominees for all the films? This would be done on February 1.

I live the idea, however I feel the execution of the live show must be more like a real live show, rather than what we've seen on SC so far.

You REALLY don't read about what this is, do you? This has NOTHING to do with Animation Source; it is something where AS members vote for their favorite animated FILMS.

This is the first I've heard about it, and I've talked to just about everyone on the site about it, including Steet who gave me the original approval. Regardless, this is the first time this particular awards show has been done, and so far there's been a ton of feedback. I know of at least 4 people who joined the site just to vote, already I've received around 40 votes (and I'm not going to say who has voted and for what), and this may eventually count as an "actual" awards show, instead of just fan-based.
